Default Trying to recall a name for an old arcade/nes? game

I'm positive someone here knows this. Back in the early 90's me and my family use to head up to a lake (can't remember name) during each summer vacation. At this lake there were dozens of cabins (where we all stayed in for a week) and one fairly small arcade cabin. Inside that cabin was a 2 sided arcade cabinet with Mario Bros on one side and another game featuring mice on the other.

What's the name of this one?

Mappy Land maybe? It is on NES and also on those Atari Flashback joystick thingys, the Ms. Pac-Man one. Describe the game play if you can.

You're going to have to give us more then 'it had mice', we've got some great members here that can help, but not with that small amount of information.

The only two games I can think of that involve mice are Mappy/Mappyland or Mouse Trap.

Was it a platformer or a pac-man type game?

The game you seek could only be...

    VS. THE GOONIES.

    You're welcome. Fun little game.

I also mentioned it was double sided with Mario Bros (the side scrolling version), I figured someone here with arcade cabinet knowledge would be familiar with the one I’m speaking of.

As far as describing the gameplay, I can hardly remember. I was only around 3 or 4 at the time.

After looking at some screenshots I can definitely say It's not Mouse Trap (thanks for the tip off though). The game had more of a Donkey Kong and Mario bros (original) level layout to it. I'm begining to lean more towards Mappy but I'm going to continue looking for more info. Thanks for the help so far everyone!

DUDE! I just told you it was vs. The Goonies. Why you gotta be dissin'??

The Nintendo vs. System was in the cabinets you described. It allows operators to change out the roms easily and then just swap the marquees out, and in the case of Duck Hunt / Hogan's Alley / etc., add a light gun.

Anyway, the game you're talking about is VS. THE GOONIES! Sheesh. Here's a screenshot, it even shows two mice...

    Was it Mappy?

(BTW people, if he said it was in a Nintendo VS cabinet, it's going to have to be a Nintendo game.)

So I'm going with ... Mickey Mouse Ghost Hunters!

    It IS made by Konami.

But sweet holy fuck, the game you're referring to is vs. the Goonies. Nintendo licensed games from other companies for their vs. Unisystem, most notably THE GOONIES, RBI Baseball, and CASTLEVANIA (also by Konami). vs. The Goonies was in a TON of those dual cabs.

Anywho, here's a photo of the cabinet im speaking of
Thanks, but I already knew that's what the cab looks like. If you're determined to not believe me, go ahead, but the game you're looking for is definitely vs. the Goonies.

Gotta run now, trying to convince my co workers that the earth is round.

First, watch your language. All i requested was an explanation, no need to get hostile buddy. I only posted the image out of excitement because it was sent to me by another member, not to refute your point.

And to the person who quoted me below, that is not what I said. Don't put words in my mouth.

@ Papastu - I agree, Dave Giarusso really had meltdown there.

It has only been roughly 10 years since I’ve seen the damn cabinet. Those pictures I posted wasn't to prove you wrong, other people on these forums requested more information and I did the best I could to give them a better idea of what I was referring to and perhaps receive more suggestions. In my earlier post I was simply answering other questions people had posted here, in what way was I "dissin" you?

Flack also mentioned that it had to have been a Nintendo game, how was I to know Nintendo licensed games from other companies? Maybe you had mentioned that info earlier it would has saved me from asking whether or not it was made by Konami. In no form was I stating that It wasn't Vs. The Goonies. In fact after looking through some screenshots you are absolutely correct and thank you very much for your help and my apologies for wasting your time.

I'm no arcade enthusiast, but that gives you no place to compare my intelligence with that of someone who believes the Earth isn't round. I should call you an ass for making such a shortsighted comment but this isn't something worth getting into an argument over.

Most of the people who believed the Earth isn't round lived in a time where science was in its infancy. They weren't unintelligent, just uninformed because they had no way of knowing more about the world they lived in.

Well, actually, the notion that there was once widespread belief in a flat Earth is false. I think it might have been a rumor started by the Catholic Church. (However, it was once popularly believed that the Earth was the center of the universe.)

It's very hard to hear you when you mumble like that, Arcade Antics.

And yeah. It's like that good advice that you just didn't take, eh?
