Default An RPG that made you feel at home

With many RPGs out there there must be one that makes you feel right at home. It may be your friends in the game, the mood, the houses, structure, storyline, etc. What RPG makes you feel good? An RPG that you can return to at any time an play again from the begining to end. What RPG would you star in and fit perfectly in? Is there an RPG that seems it's based of your life? I guess the question I'm trying to ask is:

    What's your RPG and Why?

My RPG, without a doubt, is Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It's not based on my life, or contain any aspect that I might even connect to an event, person, or memory to my life. However, I just find this great warmth in my heart when ever I think about playing it, it just takes back to a better time in my life, just sitting around dedicating a summer of my life to this game, it's just the mindset I have when I play this game. It was my first RPG, and it holds a special place in my heart.

Based on your life??? Unless you consider the Sims as an RPG, then there aren't many "based on your life" RPGs, aside from maybe Earthbound -- RPGs in which I like the world, yes, but RPGs that feels like my life? No.

Anyway, "my" RPG of choice is Neverwinter Nights. I just fell in love with it, and for me, it eclipses any console RPG I've ever played, even though I do love console RPGs. Why do I love NWN? I don't know. It must be the customization, the fact that the character you play can equally be a man or a woman, without any kind of "female characters form a minority that oughta be more limited than male characters" type of attitude. And there's the fact that the same player-character is really, really customizable. Story-wise, it's epic enough for me (and I've yet to play either expansion pack, or any mod!).

My favorite RPG is Earthbound. It starts of in a normal community with schools, houses, stores and many many people to interact with. Earthbound towns hold many secrects and side quests that are great. Even though the graphics are not 3D I still love them. Actually it was the simple graphics that attracted me to this game. Pictures like these are my favorite thing in Earthbound:

A simple house with a simple kid out to save the world. Along the way you encounter many friends that will help you in your conquest of the game. I think these friends are very well written and placed in the game. The ability to equip bats and pans is just great and funny. The game itself takes about 60 hours to fully play through the first time. It's a great RPG. I guess I'ved made NESS' house my own.

It doesnt make me feel at home, but it is a very light hearted game (most of the time), of course this is FFIX on playstation. I love the characters, and fantasy theme, especialy with all of the castles and such.

Its a bit more comforting to play than FF7 because FF7 has alot more darker mood settings and story.

It's one of the few games I can just play repeatedly without it ever getting old. And like a good book I can pick it up at any point in the game and just start playing without missing a beat. It's not the best RPG ever, it's not even the greatest tactical game out, but it's my game.

I feel similarly about Rhapsody, and Princess Maker 2. (:

FFII and FFIII (or IV and VI if you prefer) always fill me with an unparalleled goodness. No other games can even come close for some reason or another. I hope beyond hope that the SNES Final Fantasy series gets some proper remake treatment on one of the portable systems. A graphically enhanced, streamlined trilogy on the DS or PSP would be a gift from the heavens.
    Zelda is NOT an RPG.

I think that I am going to have to go with Shenmue on the Dreamcast *points to avatar*. I love this game so much, and I can play through it again and again with out ever getting tired of it. The aspect of exploration is fantastic. The mood of the game makes me feel at home.

Another vote for Earthbound. That game came out and transported me right back to when I was hanging out with my buddies back in ~1986. Haven't played it in years, but I'm sure if I did fire it up again it'd cue the flood of nostalgic memories of going on adventures with the old gang

Grandia 2 or Shenmue definately. I can play those anytime and not be bored.

The Dreamcast is the home to some of my best gaming memories. And to think I almost didn't bother getting one.
    I game therefore I am.

    Morrowind.

It sucked me in like no other game, and didnt let go. I was literally obsessed with that game for a period of time, and it was probably part of the reason I had 12 missing assignments in my L.A class.

    Its.......calling......me...........must......resi st

Well I would have to say Chrono Trigger,

When I play that it brings me back to when I was younger and just was able to play games all summer, it's just a great feeling playing that game, but I also hold FFIII/VI in the same regards, I just have a special feelings about both of those games.
