And shipping is free. But the seller mentions some name and address.
I really don't think it's a scam.
I mean if you were going to scam people would you put up MegaMan 64 and MegaMan X , etc ?
I think it's just a guy who found some old stock somewhere and is also trying to get into the Video Game Selling Business. .
That's what I was thinking. I hate to instantly assume someone's a scammer because what you said it 100% possible. But damn, the tell tale signs of a scammer are all there as well which makes me hesitant to bid.Originally Posted by jonjandran
yeah, i think his auctions are legit. he is probably just starting off and is debating whether or not to start a bidpay or paypal account. you can always ask him for pics of sealed copies. say you are thinking of bidding, but would like to see the quality of seal. good luck if you happen to bid.
He's in Canada, too.. very easy to say "The money order never got here" while he laughs with the hundreds of dollars he scammed you all out of.
Come on, take a trip with me, across the bridge of lunacy...

If I was serious about bidding, I'd send a personal check. Given how long it would take for the money to be taken out of your account, you can warn the seller you'll give him so long (I'd say three weeks) for your item and then you are putting a stop payment on the check. If the item happens to show up later on, I can resend it.

What's wrong with that? I don't blame anybody for not wanting to use PayPal.Originally Posted by Griking

I think its harder to claim money back (if possible at all) with check and money order, if its a scam.
I don't think it's a scam. But I would like to see some pics from this person since they have zero feedback and all.
SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.
0 feedback
3 day listings
SEALED items
FREE shipping on the most expensive ones
DOESNT accept paypal.
NO REFUNDS.
A walking scam.
if he can take his own pic of some shitty sports ps2 games, he sure as hell can take the time to take the pic of a sealed suikoden II that will go for hundreds of dollars. I wouldent bid.
I say scam all the way. Multiple suikoden2 and valkrye profile. Ghost bid history. I know we all hope for the auction to be legit but it isn't. I have been burned too many times buy scandelous auctions and stock photos.
The big giveaway is free shipping. with suikoden2 PLeeeeease.
If you win the bid you will pay and be waiting send emails contact paypal ebay etc. The user will be a no longer a registered user. Do yourselves a favor watch the auction as well as the results and be glad you didn't bid. Plus get the users contact info from ebay before he is a naru.

Dumb question: Why is free shipping a bad thing?

What's got me confussed, is that on some of the auctions, they have PayPal as a payment option . Also, I wish E-Bay would get rid of the stock pictures , I want to see exactly what I am buying.

Got me, I see it all the time & do it often myself on BIN listings. Free shipping on something that will sell for 100x what he's probably got in it, and is so small he's probably out only a couple bucks at the most anyway. Nothing wrong there.Originally Posted by Queen Of The Felines
No pictures in the auction, well it can go two ways, either he doesn't have what he claims (no way to show pics, or he didn't think they were necessary, given it's a single game & stock photo would look better than anything he can show himself)
Since some of his other auctions do have photos, anyone interested in these sealed games should be able to request more of these poor grainy pics. If he can provide them, then he most likely owns what he says he does. If he can't show real photos & makes up some excuse, asking you to refer back to the stock photo in the auction, then I'd be reluctant to place any bids.
Alot of people run with the stock photos on ebay for single item listings. This is probably the best thing for people with crappy cameras like this seller. It isn't out of the ordinary, it isn't necessarily a scam. But new seller with some mega expensive games his first week up on the bay, definitely needs to be approached with caution.
Its been 2 days and I haven't gotten a response for pictures on the games. Like above, the paypal on some auctions and not on the Suikoden or VP's is odd. Plus, his shipping is high on his non-free Ship auctions.
Same here, sent him a request for pics, but not reply. I noticed now too that he dont have paypal on the sealed stuff. Maybe so you cant fill out a complaint and get your money back?Originally Posted by Nate Nanjo
Free shipping significantly drives up the price of auctions.
As soon as I see M.O., check, or cash only....and then zero feedback, I leave it alone. Period! I usually don't even look at the feedback after the first part. If they don't take paypal and aren't cosmicco, I can hunt it down somewhere else.
