Default My Xbox keeps "eating" my games and DVDs

A few nights ago, my Xbox started acting weird: whenever I'd try to take out a disc, the disc tray would come out, but the dis wouldn't. They all somehow became stuck inside the Xbox system. I figured out, by using a Gameboy cleaning kit and flipping my Xbox, that I could get the discs out, but they got some straight line scratches on them. What can I do to stop this from now on?

You have a Philips drive more than likely. If you've put a rental disc in it with some stickum on the center of the disc, that stickum is now coating the inside of your drive transport and grip. Now it's eating discs. Like a pizza dough stuck to the roof of a pizzaria.

Wow, you've got that exacctly right. Not only do I have a Philips drive, but I recently put a copy of "Bad(der) Santa" in it, and I had taken the sticker from the middle of the disc off because it was a previous rental. What can I do to fix this?

Disassemble and clean with goo gone. The transport, and the trannsport cap. Gotta get ALL of it.

Just like the Xbox manual sez, never put a disc with foreign material stuck to it in your Xbox. The Philips are very susceptible to this. I see them regularly.
