Retro Atari plug and play Q's

OK, I got the Atari plug n play TV games joystick because it had ADVENTURE, something I played constantly back on my 2600 years ago. Remembering that this was the first ever Easter Egg, I ran to get the dot out of the Black Castle and high tailed it over to the border screen to see the name of the Warren Robinett...........

Now granted I only paid 8 bucks for this plus 4 AA batteries, but I was sorely tempted to take this back for a refund.


Because JAKKS Pacific removed WR's name and replaced it with a smalllllllll font saying "text".


WTF?

Anyone know the story on this?
Atari getting revenge because WR snuck that in years ago?

Any other of the Plug N Play games altered like this?
This is my 2nd PNP and they're 2 for 2 so far, I won't be buying any more no matter how much they're marked down. The other is the C-64 one and the stick feels so wonky I couldn't get Impossible mission to play right.

All I could think of was "God I miss my old WICO bat wing joystick"

This was talked about in depth over at Atari Age when the thing was released. And yeah, it was lame.

Anyway, now that the Flashback 2 is released (check your local Walmart), you're better off with that. It has the original Adventure the way you remember it and also has Adventure 2 Not to mention you can use your old Wico bat wing joystick on it if you want to
