Also, the CD32 and CDTV are missing, blashpemy! ;)
Woo.....Dreamcast and Gamecube tied for first at 23% (a result I can live with....Gamecube intro IS pretty cool...but still third place in my book.)
the coleco is missing as well (though its annoying)
but i think there needs to be more love for the master system. for the technology of the day, the SMS startup screen is just cool

Holy crap. It's been a while.
My vote is for the playstation, as it was my very first console and i remember the sound of it being so satisfying when i first turned it on.
Muze
...Muzer 2005...
i voted sega master system - i liked others as well but i had to go with the one that puts a simle on my face when i see it
The human operates out of complex superiority demands, self -affirming through ritual, insiting upon a rational need to learn, striving for self-imposed goals, manipulating his environment while he denies his own adaptive abilities, never fully satisfied.

I'll take the Saturn, allthough it's close call though, the SMS one is just so retro cool and the PS2 is sweet too, I just love my Saturn though. I hate the PSX one though it is so long and annoying, the worst though is the CD-i it is just boring and has no sound.
Great thread, I was going to start one of these sooner or later.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

I have to say GameCube, mainly because it has alternate start-ups when you hold the Z button and when you hold the Z button on all 4 controllers. You can have much more fun with it.
I also liked any Genesis game (like Sonic 2) that sang "Se-ga!" before the title screen.

Atari Jaguar.
ROAR!
You're not alone, bud. It gets me too. At least my mod chip let me customize the intro "flubber" animation. I changed it all to a greyscale wireframe. Plus I can tell when I boot regularly, or boot to the chip.

My favorite is the Dreamcast because it is subtile and can be skipped through. PS1 is harsh on the eyes and ears, but Sony really outdid themselves with the PS2 and PS3 intros.
it's thinking
I'm gonna have to go with the Jaguar. I always loved it's intro. And also the Jag CD's intro too, with it's VLM-styled start-up.
I always liked the Segas Dreamcast and PSones start ups the best.
a close second is Sega Saturn and Xbox 1.
SMS.
I loved that little jingle...
Runner up: The Odyssey 2.
"Select Game": It's so blunt, and to the point. Not to mention, colorful!
Amiga CD32, which isn't on that list of yours.
For old school the Master System
For more new school Dreamcast , Playstation and Saturn were cool
I like the GameCube intro. Close behind are the Dreamcast and Saturn. The only reason I'd like the PSX startup is because I've played so many RPGs on there and it gets me into an RPG mood.
