Default Limited edition Green NES Top Loader?

LOOKING FOR INFO ON METALLIC GREEN NES TOPLOADER!
Hey, I just picked this up in a bulk purchase a few days ago:
    http://photobucket.com/albums/v465/c...1/Green%20NES/
I won this off an auction on ebay. Someone in my home state of Alaska had a gigantic bulk lot for sale on ebay because he had to move. Saving on shipping and a poorly designed auction page (no pics), I picked this up for real cheap. The auction specified that there was a toploader, but I had no idea that it was GREEN!
The NES appears somewhat black when viewed from a distance, but shined up against a bright light it is most definitley a metallic green. The NES came with a whole boatload of accesories that are also the same shade of green. Three games match the system, which include Jaws, Duckhunt, and Mario Bros. A metallic green zapper also came with the lot.
The most strange thing about the set is what appears to be a metallic green toploader game genie. It does not, however, have the correct reciever for a NES game on the top. I am not sure of what it is supposed to take. It has some stuff written on the back of it, but it merley states 'do not immerse in water' and other warnings. It does not state what it is for or who it is made by.
I also got a dogbone controller with the lot, but it does not match the system in color. I admitt that I have never seen anything like this. I looked for info on the internet, but to no avail. This thing does not look like it has been spraypainted, its way too professional looking. I dont know what to say.
I am looking for more info on what this is, when it came out, and how much it may be worth. I am probably looking to sell it, but I'll do that in the buying and selling forum. I will post the ebay listing before my sig for anyone who is interested. There are a ton of NES, SNES, Atari, and Gen stuff that I am looking to sell from the auction as well. Any info on this item is welcome. Thanks,
    -Chris

Interesting. I have no idea what its about, but your picture wants me to log in iwith your password to view it. Try reposting it. I really want to see what this looks like.
It sort of sounds like he just painted it, but I have no idea.

I know you said that it looks like it wasn't spraypainted, it almost has to be. Or maybe it was professionally done? Either way, I've never heard of such a thing, and can only imagine that it was painted.

But, I would love for you to prove me wrong, so just get us pictures as fast as possible.

The green games and game genie lead me to believe it was altered. Also the fact that the dogbone wasn't green, but the zapper was sort of indicate that it wasn't something Nintendo did. Heck, I don't even think they were still making zappers by the time the top loader came out.

Yep, the Genie is the nail in the coffin on this one. It is a mod.

It doesn't make it any more or less (in my eyes, at least) valuable though (that is, if it is spraypainted/painted). Its still a cool thing to have.

Sounds like a Famicom-to-NES converter used for playing Famicom games on your NES.

I would also like to see some pics of the thing, although I also assume it is spraypainted, as I've never heard of any official colored top-loader NES.

    Nice deal, by the way!

    -Speedy

P.S. Are you sure it's an official NES top-loader? It could be a pirated system, hence the color, accessories, and colored games (Duck Hunt and Mario are common pirated games).

There should be a rule about posting a thread asking a question, and then walking away. What have you been doing for the last hour that's more important than fixing this link?

Sorry, I keep on thinking I have fixed it, but of coarse it always lets me view the pictures. I think I have it now, this is the first time I have ever used photobucket. Let me know if there is an error.

That could very well be a famicom converter. I dont have any JAP games to test it out, but it did cross my mind.

If it is spraypainted, it was professionally done. You will have to judge by the pics itself. I don't know how they would have spraypained the games (jaws, duckhunt, mario) without ruining the labels. They would have had to remove the labels and then reapply them. The quality of the labels in the pic kind of indicate otherwise. Let me know what you think

Dang, those look nice. What's the texture like? It seems like the paint makes it smooth and glossy.

    Thanks for posting pics.

It's a paint job, no doubt, but you are right that it appears to have been done with extreme professionalism. It looks like a site that used to (or still does) paint jobs for consoles, the glitter-look was something I remember from pictures from their site.
    Zelda is NOT an RPG.

Definately an aftermarket paint job, but a really nice one. I know you can send stuff to colorware.com - they essentially paint electronics for a living.

Wow, looks very nice! That adapter is definitely a Honey Bee Famicom-to-NES converter from the looks of it.
