    Default European Gameboy games

    Hi everyone,

Do European original Gameboy games work on North American Gameboy Advance SPs? I see quite a few of European games on Ebay, and was wondering if they work.

As well, if they do work, how many original gameboy games were released all together, meaning, Europe and U.S? There seems to be unique titles only released in Europe.

    Thanks!!

Already answered, but all GB games from all regions work on all systems.

Here's another question for you: How many uniques titles were produced all together, covering all 3 gameboys?? For example, Dr. Mario was on the original gameboy, then on Advance.

I thought KKK (at least I now understand why it couldn't be reelased in the US without a name change) was GBA only. The above lists are GB & GBC. If there's a Euro GBC KKK, let me know so I can add it.

I haven't done much of anything with Euro GBA but will be starting soon. US GBA is at 712 + 31 GBA Video carts.

When you say unique, you mean counting Dr Mario once? If so, you're on you're own.

You could use the online guide and CTRL-left click multiple systems (ie GB, GBC, GBA) and manually weed out duplicate titles, but personally I still count the two Dr Marios, Zelda & Zelda DX, etc as seperate games.

It was announced but I'm fairly certain it never shipped. Supposedly the game was near completion too.

Did Gameboy Mr. DO! get a US release? I thought it was Europe only.

BTW it's a great version with a very fun soundtrack (reminiscent of the better C64 SID stuff)

    Cheers,

I have adjustments for the original Game Boy Europe (and not US) release list.

    Cool Hand
    Dropzone
Montezuma's Return (Europe got 2 releases one grey cartridge Game Boy and the later GBC black cartridge, US only got GBC)
    Sea Battle
The Lawnmower Man (I have not seen a US copy)

and just for clarity, Max is Rubble Saver 2.

Yeah, I know it's an 8 year necro-bump but this is still the best list/resource I could find.

Great list. Kirikou and the Sorceress and The New Addams Family were also Euro exclusives.

This is a very old topic, but nobody has corrected that a few games on that list were released in North America.

Baby T-Rex (released under a few license variants in Europe) was We're Back: A Dinosaur Story
Garfield Labyrinth is The Real Ghostbusters
McDonaldland is Spot: The Cool Adventure
Mickey Mouse is Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle
Pop Up apparently was called Cool Ball

Might be worth verifying the others as I know a few of those were at least announced/reviewed for US.

That Dr. Mario thing is also pointless because the NES (GBA version) and the Game Boy versions were not even identical. The music is even different in parts.
