Man, this game looks great. Looks like a cross between Mercury and Yoshi Topsy Turvy.
Here is the trailer (6.6meg).

Wow, unlike Yoshi's Topsy Turvy, that game looks like fun. Any idea what company is developing it?
SCEI is developing it. Apparently it only uses the L and R button. Press L or R to tilt the playing area or press them both at the same time to jump.
Here is a scan.
Wow! That looks so much fun! I really really hope it comes to the US. I would buy it in a second. I love the art style. Almost Katamari-ish.
If it doesn't get brought over, anyone think it would require too much reading? I'd just import it and play it in Japanese (Or hopefully English if they are smart enough to include the option.)
Looks like so much fun. Any word on a release date?
I was thinking about a game of Rocco Siffredi!

I saw the video for Loco Roco earlier today and I have to say, it looks like great fun!
It doesn't look like a game where not being able to read Japanese would make it that much more challenging either. Besides, IGN generally has translation guides for Jap only games nowadays, so if it doesn't have a worldwide release, import-a-rama, baby!
I agree. Oh my God I agree. I must have watched the video a dozen times last night absorbing the awesome art style. I will definitely buy this whether it's Import or US.
TBD 2006. I hope we get a date soon and I hope it's not after E3.

More footage. A playthrough of the demo level.
I'm a dolt!
I was just about to post that the video didn't work. All I was getting was a short video of unreadable words. So I tried to translate it and that didn't work. So I was gonna post the words here so I read them... "Klik Hier... waitaminute... CLICK HERE! Duh!"
Awesome footage! This is very unique to me. I love the graphics. I love the idea. I can't wait to play it myself! At least it looks like it's close to finished. I hope. Any chance we might see this by Christmas? Even if I have to import the Japanese version. This will be the fourth game that makes my PSP worth the $250. (Unless something else comes before it. Then it'd be the fifth.. or sixth.. or whatever. But I doubt it.)
It's just too bad that the only people who can make professional demo videos of PSP games are sites like GameSpot or IGN who probably have access to very expensive devices. Other people have to use a stationary camera and play the PSP at weird angles to capture the video.
Now that the demo is out, whats everyone impressions on it? The game is sickingly cute, the locoroco's are sickingly cute, soo sickingly cute that it may cause cavities. For serious, especially with that god damn song, even more so when you have 8 of them singing along with the song.
As for the controls, it can cause some problems, mainly because the little bastards won't bounce high enougn/where you want them to and it can result in trying to get to the same place for several minutes. Luckily tho this isn't the final demo, so they'll more than likely improve on the tilting motion.
I do wish there was some kind of boss battle type deal, like having to form 3 medium size loco's and sending them to 3 different spots to defeat whatever horribly cute, yet horrible deadly monster it may be.
Overall it was a nice demo, it kept me busy for awhile and more than convinced me to pick the game up as a guilty pleasure.
I haven't played the demo yet because it upgrades your firmware. So, until I purchase a white PSP, I'm not playing it on my system.
I found a picture of the Presskit. I want it!
i played it when the japanese version of the demo came out just prior to this year's e3. the american version that just came out is much the same.
very enjoyable game, pretty psychedelic and screensaver-like at the same time. my friend's daughter played it and wouldve give my psp back to me for an hour once. even for just the first stage, it has hella secrets in it. i must admit, if it werent for this demo, i probably wouldve never given this game a try at all.
edit: wouldnt have given my psp back to me for an hour once.
Heyyyyy
that's my daughter you're talking about!
haha.
sup n8.
Yes loco roco is a hot game.
The girl at E3 demo'ing the game for ppl is even hotter.
Yowzas.
