Default Longest you had to wait to buy a game or system?

Don't tell me you had to wait a long time because the game was always being pushed back by "Nintendo". I'm talking about a game or system that was already out, but you could not buy for one reason or another.

I had to wait 12 years to get a Nintendo 8 bit system. I got it when I was 18 years old after I got my job. Damn, I was dirt poor back then.

It took me three years to get an X-Box. Otherwise, all of my other systems were bought within the month or two the system came out.

Still haven't gotten a Laseractive or CD-i, but hopefully will soon. Otherwise, XBOX.

I wanted a Saturn since probably before it came out but only got one about a month ago. Wish I'd just got it when it was still current gen. Now its just like I picked it up at a car boot and it means nothing rather than buying the best system around,

I wanted an SNES back in I think '94, but my parents never would buy me one cuz I had a Genesis. So I finally got one in 2003. I just got a Saturn this spring, and the DC was more than a few years overdue. Those three are probably the longest.

I'm tempted to say my Atari 2600 but it was originally released before I was born. Barring that I would say my Saturn would be the longest wait since I finally got one back in June. (All my other systems I got during their original runs.)

Hmmm, waited about 3 years for the 64, and I only got it because of Zelda Oot.

First would be the reverse of Gaz' situation (got a SNES at launch, had to wait 4 or so years for a Genny, but the Sonic bundle was worth it). Had to replace the SNES and Super Mario All-Stars recently thanks to some asshole, preventing me from buying We Love Katamari in the foreseeable future.

Got a Dreamcast just over a month ago, got some nice games (like a complete Capcom vs. SNK) for cheap. However, the place where I bought the DC doesn't carry the games and accessories anymore. Just one lonely console due to be shipped back to Evansville at any given moment... bastards.

Got a GC and Super Smash Bros. Melee on Valentine's Day of '04. It was a little unsettling at first, as if my boyfriend read my mind. It is nice to be appreciated, however.

I bought my first SNES in 2002. I could have bought one a lot earlier, but I didn't.

Being that my parents are the kind of people who think video games are nothing more then senseless violence the only system i had as a kid was an SNES. Other then that i've had to wait for everyother system i own.

    XBOX was Fall '02
NES, NES2, GENISIS, GENISIS 2, Panasonic 3DO, Goldstar 3DO and my DC were all bought last novemeber with student loan money. So i guess the longest wait i had was 19 years for the NES. Damn that's a long time.
