    Default Speak to me, Cubey!

Dahne: Well, I've gone all the way downtown to watch the ski jump publicity stunt (I love this city), I might as well look around downtown.

    EBGames: *sings its siren song*

Dahne: Ooh, I need to get We Love Katamari soon.

Guy at the Counter: Since you don't have the controllers, we can only give you 5 bucks for it.

Shifty-looking Kid with a Cube: Oh. I guess I'll do it then.

Dahne: Dude, I'll give you $20.

    Kid: Kay.

Guy at the Counter: *doesn't care*

    Dahne: It works, right?

    Kid: Yeah.

Dahne: *is so very, very gullible*

    Cube: *is adorable*

Dahne: *Heads home, picking up a Wavebird and Eternal Darkness on the way*

Dahne: Why do I always like the games that have to do with insanity? Anyway, let's try this thing out.

    Cube: *is hooked up*

    Dahne: *hits the power button*

    Cube: ...

Dahne: Come on...*checks the cords and hits power again*

    Cube: ...

    Dahne: Speak to me!

    Cube: ...

Dahne: OH CRUEL FATE! WHY HAVE YOU...yeah, this is totally my own fault.

    Curtain

No light, no spinning disc, nothing. The Cube, she is silent. Could it just be a problem with the power cord? Is there any way to fix this? Is this what happens when you try to mess with The ManTM? Am I destined to be Cubeless?

Was it the kids power cord? If so, try your own. If that does not work, it could be a broken solder joint on the inside or something.

Wish I could do that, but I don't have another power cord, as this was to be my first Cube.

if you have a multimeter, check theres 12v coming out the end of the power cable. if you dont, go steal a light bulb out your car and connect that to the power cable, if it works, it's not the cable..
if the cable works, theres probably a fuse in the gamecube which is dead. if that is the case, pm me, ill probably never find my way back to this thread.. but i can help you:P

Hmm, don't have a multimeter or a car. Heheh. Would a light bulb from something else work?

Nope, cars run on 12v which is why he said use the car bulb.

Hmph. Darn. Well, now I've got a really strange favor to ask one of my friends who has a car.

Heheh. I would've been cheap and offered $6. Well, good luck.

I would go to another EBGames or Gamestop and kindly ask if you can test it on one of their demo unit power supplies. Testing with an automotive light bulb won't tell you anything very useful about the power supply except whether it's totally dead or not. And if it's totally dead, won't you need to go to EBGames or Gamestop anyway to get a new supply??
