Default Dangerous game glitch report, Madden PSP

EA is in trouble. Madden '06 on the PSP has issues. Some are minor, like the kick meter not showing up (just pause and it comes on). Some are big (the game locking up as it loads briefly between plays). Some are on a whole new level.

Various message boards have been ripping the company for releasing the game like this, and I just experienced it myself. Though it's random, the majority of the time it happens during week 2 of a franchise. When the game is over, the game literally shuts down your PSP, losing (obviously) the game you just played. It doesn't seem to matter which firmware you have. It just happened to me 10 minutes ago after week 3 on firmware 2.0, so yes, it does happen.

Newer reports however are saying your memory stick may be erased. During the saving process, it's apparently wiping memory sticks with corrupted data as it shuts down. That, thankfully even though I'm backed up, didn't happen, and while plausible, seems unlikely.

It's probably just people looking to bitch about EA and make the situation worse, but the shut down glitch is real, and if you were looking into buying it, it's probably not the best idea.

Man this is going to make a lot of nintendo and 2k fans real happy. But for me it just makes me feel bad for the people that shelled out $50 for a game that does not work.

Like EA cares if they shove out a dog game that crashes the system. They have the NFL exclusive so they know people will buy their game even if it erases memory sticks.

Even though they are not my friend right now, I'd like to think that EA isn't the one totally to blame here. Shouldn't Sony take some of the brunt for not assuring the quality of a hard-hitter like Madden? This is 1st generation Sony product, which I refuse to buy anymore ><

I've heard the DS version sucks just as much, if not more than the PSP version. Nintendo fans don't have anything to celebrate.

2K fans can't be happy, either. The only football game for handhelds might suck, but it isn't like that happening will suddenly get Take 2 the rights to start making more football games.

    In the end, everyone loses.

Other games work fine on their hardware. This is a coding problem. Sony's hands are clean.

The kicking meter glitch is exactly the same in the PS2 version...happens from time to time.

As much as i hate Sony and would love to stick them for something like this, GRG is right this is solely EA's fault and talk about dropping the fuckin' ball.

Like GRG i don't beleive in a lot of the bugs are true, but the shutdown bug is real and it's nasty. I'm amazed that EA isn't just making a huge recall. In fact what i've heard is that EA isn't even making an effort.

Suprisingly i don't see any mention of the bug on major news sites like Gamespot and IGNorrant. Although as mentioned earlier Penny-Arcade did have something good to about it.

Guess i'll have to raise EA above Sony on my list of companies with bad customer service.

Actually, that auction has already been linked to on this sites own Everything eBay forum.

So what's the deal with the Penny Arcade comic? Was there a comic about the PSP Madden that was suddenly removed or something? If so does anyone have a image of the original?

It's been recalled... months after the problem surfaced. Way to go EA:

I think this is great news

Anyone who intentionally buys Madden deserves to have their shit ruined.

I know it is nowadays fashionable to sell some over-the-top comments mixed in with some vulgarity as intelligence -- here is a secret: it is NOT.
