Default Trouble shooting the original Odyssey

I just recently bought an Odyssey and I am having trouble with it. I have all of the cords inserted correctly (as far as i know) but when i insert a card into the Odyssey all that shows up on the screen is black and fuzzy. Would it help if I hooked it up directly to an old tv that had the uhf things? Please help.

Don't you have to put the overlays on the TV to make it look like anything? I hooked that thing up one time, and that was it for me. The overlays are made for those huge honking furniture TVs, so I was out of luck in that department.

Sorry, I thought you meant that the sprites were fuzzy. When I hooked it up to my TV without the UHF things, it was fine.
