I knew at that point I better hurry up and order. I still wish I had picked up a 2nd copy to replace my bent manual (not my doing), and resell the other copy after a few years. At this point, however, we are almost sold out of the game and a second production run is not a "go" (and may not be, as I've said above). So, I encourage everyone who is interested in a copy to place their order as soon as possible.
We're back.
As of October 18, 2006, we are officially taking pre-orders for... Beggar Prince! Yes, you read correctly - Beggar Prince is back!
Due to popular demand, we have decided to produce an additional 300 copies of everyone's favorite new role-playing adventure game for the Sega Genesis - Megadrive. In case you missed out on snapping up one of our first 600 copies, now's your chance to make up for lost time. All orders will be shipped in time for Christmas, 2006.
Visit beggarprince.com to place your order!
Thanks, everyone, for all of your interest, attention and support. We couldn't have done it without you. Never let dreams die!

Lee Harvey Oswald was not a male model... You're god damn right he wasn't, but those two lookers who capped Kennedy from the grassy knoll sure as shit were.-
Hey CMA Death Adder...
WILL IT PLAY ON CDX OR X'EYE?
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~

So, i have opened the north gate. Everyone in my hometown (except the guards) seems to have been turned into a cat. Through the north gate, there is a small town. talked to everyone there... also to the north there is a deserted building with a bed in one room and a couple of chests in the other. swiped the stuff and had a nap. and there is a mountain with a skullish face. been in there, searched around, found a locked door. so now what?!?
cripes, can't believe i am stuck already... please help!

If I remember correctly you find the keys in the dungeon itself. You can walk through some of the walls on the first floor and in later levels.
GamesTM magazine (England) featured Beggar Prince in this month's issue, as part of their retro section:

There are several keys to be found within the mountain. The first one you'll need is in the left portion; not the path which leads to the locked door, but the alternate path. Eventually you will come to a spot that the prince can pass through, which looks like ordinary rock. Within the twists and turns of this section of the mountain, the first key can be found.Originally Posted by Chickenpuppet

Man, this is an otherwise fun game, but the amount of wandering monster encounters really slows the game play to a crawl. I hope that they will do a sequel, but i hope that the sequel will feature less frequent encounters with perhaps stronger monsters/longer fights.

To be this great takes SEGA!!
I received mine late last week.

I agree. Poor "journalism" at work here.
