Default Using an American LCD screen on a Japanese PSOne

I just got a Sony brand LCD screen for the PSOne (here in America). But my PSOne unit is Japanese. I'm worried about the power differences; I'm afraid to go ahead and plug it in for fear of frying the screen or something. Is this OK? When I've played my Japanese PSOne before, I used the Japanese AC adapter and plugged it into a step-down transformer.

    Opinions?

You should have no problems using a regular AC setup. I have been doing it for years without issue. The US screen works perfectly with a JP PSOne.

Thanks for responding; just to be clear, by regular AC setup, do you mean using the American AC adapter that came with the PSOne LCD screen?

Yes, you should be fine with that. It will also work with US battery packs.

What klausien said is correct. Japanese PSones have no problem at all with American LCD screens. However, PAL PSones...there's my question.

Well, I found my answer. I recently traded for a PAL PSone (got it not more than a week and a half ago). Tried my LCD screen on it, and it didn't exactly work. The colors were surprisingly correct, but the display rolled. The fellow who traded me the PAL PSone said it had to do with the lack of an auto v-sync (I guess that means American LCD screens only display 60 Hz)...
