GREAT NEWS We decided to mutually withdraw feedback through E-Bay, and now I'm back at 100% (even though it is slightly tanted). I am happy again,

Yup, always best to calm down and work it out with the buyer or seller since eBay doesn't have your back for ANYTHING.
I got a negative recently over a supposedly defective software item. Why supposedly? Well, the bidder said that he had bought the same item before, and that it was also defective, which led me to believe that his CD/DVD drive is busted and may not like SafeDisc protection.
Since I refused to give him a refund (as stated in the auction) he negged me. I gave him a neutral. I know people hate negs, but loathe neutrals, so that was my half-hearted vengeance. :P
Anyway, don't feel bad. A well-written reply will often get bidders to reconsider your items.
(And awesome that you managed to get the feedback mutually removed.)
Same thing happened to me. Been a member/seller since '97. I have over 1100 positive and 1 neg. A newbie wasn't happy with the item and just left bad feedback. I think it was a $6 item too. Didn't contact me at all just left the neg. This was before mutual withdraw, but I was able to leave a response to it.
I would have gladly given a refund as I offer to all my customers, but this person went right to the neg. It really pissed me off !!!
I glad you got it taken care of, but it is bound to happen again. It is just the nature of people, you won't be able to please everyone.
