Default 2-4 Player Simultaneous, "Continue" Arcade Games

Looking for a certain kind of cabinet for the store, the kind that at least two players can play at the same time, and also allows you to continue. Some obvious examples: Smash TV, Rampage, Double Dragon, Metal Slug...

Can you suggest some others, particularly ones you personally enjoyed?

the newer gauntlets have character saving to a hard drive if you're willing to find / pay for one of those.

gauntlet is a great choice, i used to LOOK FORWARD to going to the DENTIST because he had a gauntlet cabinet.

If you get a Smash TV machine, you can swap out Total Carnage too. Awesome.

    Some of my faves:

    Trog (1-4 players!)
    NARC (1-2)
    Gauntlet / Gauntlet II
    Marble Madness
    Track & Field (continues?)
    House of the Dead (series)
    Confidential Mission
    1943

Others, just off the top of my head:
Crime Fighters (1-4, JAMMA, boards should be dirt cheap)
    Street Fighter II (series)
    MK (series)
    Moonwalker (1-3)
    Klax
    Tetris
    Columns
    Mr. Driller 2
    Two Tigers (continues?)
    Operation Wolf
    Operation Thunderbolt
    Mercs
    Guerilla War
    Spider-Man
    Puzzle Bobble / Bust-a-Move
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

If you are looking for a decent game that a lot of people recognize, go for either Simpsons or one of the TMNTs. I am constantly asked by people for those machines - well along with Galaga and Ms. Pac.

The only downside to either for home use is if you have the machine on free play and unlimited continues you will finish the game in 2 hours. After that it will seldom get any play. I have sold the same Simpsons machine 3 times because of that

You can never go wrong with a Sunset Riders machine, if you can find and afford one. I love that game.

I saw a couple of kids going nuts over one of those T2 shooting games. I'm sure there lots of gun games that are 2 player and allow continues. I've always assumed that along with gun games comes more maintenance, but I don't know that for a fact.

Shooting games and fighting games seem to do the best in the locations I know of. Some of the more modern fighters do very well, something like SF 3rd Impact or even some of the Neo games.

Also, games like Simpsons seem to always do well.

Are you looking at games to make some money or just to have around for kids to play for free. If you're going to make money on them, make sure you check into the necessary tax stickers and operator licenses. Around here, they are cheap, but they will nail you to the wall if you operate games without them.

I'll second mercs, as it's a three player simoultaneous game. I've been having a blast with it on Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 recently.

A Neo would also be a good choice since you would be able to swap out games with little hassle.

I'd have to throw in my vote for Smash TV. You get the Robotron type 2 joystick style which is "rare" in arcade games. Plus it has the violence kids crave without being overly violent and bloody. I don't know, just my 2 cents. If you still want a "E" style game then you can't go wrong with TMNT or that X-Men game, my kid can play that for awile without bothering me for quarters every 15 seconds.

A Neo is the way to go for this I think, a 4 slot with a Slug, a Sonic Wings, a KoF and a Samurai Shodown would be a killer set up (and you could easily and cheaply change out games going forward).
Sonic is a bitch, all he can do is run.
