but I have to say rambo for nes was one of the great (overlooked) movie licenced games of all times.

it was very simmilar to zelda 2 in style, and had some interesting rpg elements and some simply bizzare parts later on. but overall a very solid and fairly hard game that most people have never given much of a chance.
I recall most people coudln't even figure out how to get out of the base section at the begining of the game ;-)
Rambo is great. I didn't really understand it when I was a kid, but I had a chance to play through it when I was 24 (my roommate had it!) and it's actually insanely creative, considering it's a game based on Rambo. Of course, it is one of those games that was so ambitious that the NES couldn't really pull it off, and it looks like shit at times, but I can't believe some of the stuff they tried in that game. It blows me away because games based on movies these days are usually devoid of interesting ideas. I haven't actually seen Rambo, so I don't know if that scene where you control Kay and you essentially have to get the enemy general to want to sleep with you is also in the movie. If it's not in the movie, then I'd have to praise the designers of that game.

Heh... I didn't notice the "8-" part of the title. My bad

As far as 8-bit games based on movies go, The Goonies II is my favourite.

I really like Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES) a lot as well, but I think it was based on the comic book series more than it was based on the animated feature (which may or may not have come out after the videogame was developed).

I loved Batman for NES and True Lies for SNES/GEN. I remember renting True Lies and lucky for me, the next day was a snow day. It was one of the few games I played for a couple of days straight. I need to dig up that game again one of these days.

Yeah, I say Goonies 2 wins this by a landslide.

I want to mention Gremlins 2 (NES) as well, I'm actually surprised that nobody has mentioned it yet. Very nice game with good graphics and superb music.

    Others I like much:

    Batman (NES)

Addams Family Values for SNES seems interesting too but I haven't played it yet.
