    Default Confirming "new" Gitaroo-man

Well, I did not have this game but I have wanted it for some time now. After learning of Gamestop's "warehouse find" of some copies, I went ahead and purchased one from the local store as soon as it came it. I've heard different stories from more than a few sources, some saying that it's a reprint, others saying it's a regualr first run copy.

Does anyone have any other information about this? It doesn't really bother me that much either way. I started playing it today and it's great. Either way I'm keeping it, but of course I'd like to know if I have a "first run" copy or not.

Is there a reliable, high-quality scan of the orginal box art/manual somewhere in the abyss of the net that someone knows about or some other way that can determine this? Does anyone have a copy they bought at release that they wouldn't mind scanning for the rest of us if there actally is some credibility to this re-print/non re-print issue?

Thanks in advance for any information!

This has to be a warehouse find. I just can't see it being a reprint.

We probably would have heard if there was a reprint, and more stores probably would have been getting it as well then.

I'm almost positive its a reprint. Saw like 3 copies at my Fry's, sealed, with NO white security seal. A lot of newer games no longer sport the white seal either, so I'm guessing reprint.

It's looking like it's definitely a reprint. People have seen it at FYE and Fry's, and it was nearly unfindable a month ago.

Kinda wishing I'd known and hadn't payed $60 for it a few months ago, but I'm not regretting it too much. Definitely a great game.

So the gist that I'm getting is that the copies that are popping up now are indistinguishable from the orginals once they are open? The security seal is the only difference? It's weird to me that they wouldn't change the packaging somehow to show them as different games. Were they trying to cash in on the hype to sell them to retailers at the more expensive price?

The reprints are like all the new PS2 stuff, they do not have the barcode sticker at the top, this is no exception.

Well, I sure am glad I got it for 10 bucks used at EB Games over a year ago. I'd be crying if I paid 90 or more for it like some people.

If they use identical labels, covers, game data, etc., why does it matter if it is a reprint or not? It's not like a Greatest Hits or a data revision (a la Vice City), where they remaster a disc. They just repress another batch of discs from the original master. They might even be using leftover case covers/disc labels from the first run.

Most likely a reprint to start a small hype for the recently annouched gitaroo man 2 which is supposed to come out in the US.
