Default Sonic Rush....ooooooh what a Rush....

I just got this game at lunch time, and it is GREAT.. the levels, are ginormous, and pretty, the first two rounds are in the forest, and there are tons of stuff going on. I have to say, it can get tricky, at times, watching both screens, because, you need to in order to see whats comming down the pike, but the sound is nice, the graphics as well nice. I haven't played a boss yet. So I cannot speak on the 3d side of things, but so far this is a solid sonic port, and a must own for any Sonic Gamer... enjoy.

Sounds sweet. Is it similar to Sonic Advance?

Holy crap! I just picked this up. It's amazing! Not completely perfect, but an excellent Sonic title. I was actually kinda of disappointed when I heard the soundtrack thinking that the Jet Set Radio style music wouldn't mesh well with my beloved Sonic. Boy was I wrong! It's amazingly addictive and fits right in with the visual style of this game. Now I just need someone to rip the soundtrack.

Anyone who's ever loved a Sonic game owes it to themselves to pick this up ASAP.

I'm glad someone started this thread... my copy should be sitting at home waiting for me... and I can't wait. Is this the greatest Sonic game since the Genesis Sonics, guys?

imo, it is, it to me, beats the hell out of the sonic advance series. The mock 3d boss battles are great so far, and the levels are AWESOME... it took me back to the first time I played sonic on the genny, so in my book, its way better than the Sonic advance series, and on par with those on the genny.

I'd say so too. I liked the advance and adventure ones, but this one really captures Sonic well.

Since the Genesis Sonics? Yeah. It doesn't trump Sonic CD, or S3&K or anything from those days, but still, don't get me wrong, this game is bloody fantastic. I loved Sonic Adventure, but Rush still beats pretty much everything after the Genesis days for me.

    Boss battles? Sorta hard? Awesome.

Gameplay? Fast, easy to control, plenty of new moves, awesome level design, etc

Graphics? Beautiful, Sonic in polygons on a 2-D backdrop.

Music? TOTALLY took me by surprise. This game has some of the best music I've heard in any game in awhile. Atleast for me.

Quoting myself... a new low. Anyway, the Water Palace music also reminds me of The Wiseguys - Start the Commotion. So good.

Based on your glowing review, I picked this up today. I sort of went on a big rush of buying DS games, which was really just using up some credit over the last few days. I'm set for a LONG while (also got Pac Pix, Pac-N-Roll, Puyo Pop and Nanostray).

I'm honestly very torn about it so far. I've only played a few levels. The first boss battle, with 8 hit points seems excessive, and it seems to kick my ass. Also, while I have so far liked the two screen thing, I get confused over where the heck Sonic goes sometimes, as it doesn't always follow logic when the screens move.

The music, as noted, is amazing.

Overall, I'd rate it just behind the awesome Neo Geo Pocket Sonic title, which hands down has been my most played Sonic. I never really could get into the console versions, but that one is just stupendous. I'm not comparing it to Sonic Adventure, as that was a whole different game, and I haven't played the Sonic Advance games.

Out of everything that I have picked up so far though, I know this will be getting a LOT of play.

Sonic games have always kicked my ass, but I'm getting my DS this coming week (waiting for the Mario Kart Edition) and this will be a game that I pick up at time of purchase. Every review that I've read has been extremely positive.

Hey take some consolation in the fact that i haven't been able to get a copy here either. For some reason no one is getting it in stock.

Whoa, that's old school! All the old Mega Drive game bosses had to be hit 8 times in order for them to die. Yay for keeping some continuality!

The final boss is a real tough nut to crack. Reminds me of the final boss scene from Sonic 2 The ending was a bit "bleh" but I'm soooo going to play this again and again. What a damn good Sonic game!

I love this game! It kind of reminds me of nights, but I may be alone in that. BTW, isn't Sonic for NGPC a compilation of Sonic 2 and 3?
