I have a quick question that didn't appear in a search for "manuals". Is there a tried and true method for unsticking stuck pages? Thanks as always.

Do you have a humidifier? I'm thinking that maybe if you placed the manual in question in the path of the flow of cold steam anything sticking the pages together would loosen from the light moisture. However I've not tired this myself.

Thanks for the reply . I was actually thinking of using the steam from a pot of boiled water. I do have a humidifier, though. I'll try it out on a worthless magazine to see how paper handles that much moisture.

Yea, I'd think steam/humidity is the only way to go. Hopefully this isn't a manual from something like Volleyball Beach Babes, cause I'd just throw that away...

Anyway, it's my complete copy of Earthbound--mint with all the inserts except for the dang manual! How'd this thing get stuck anyway??

... Nevermind. I probably don't want to know.

Okay... Time for an update.

It worked like a charm. The pages didn't seem to warp like I expected.

The humidifier seemed like the best idea, and I set it up first. However, holding my hand over the stream of mist made me suspect it would just make the paper damp. So, I started a pan of boiling water, and put a steamer lid on top; it has a little hole in it that blows the steam out like a geyser. I split the stuck pages apart as far as I could without ripping 'em, and held them opened like a sail, collecting as much hot steam as possible. This made them pliable, so I pulled them apart. It felt like taking off a bandage. Repeated twice, and voila. Brand-stinking-new manual.

Something about the steam made it seem safer than just room temp water. When it hit the paper, it didn't collect into drops. That makes sense, though, because steam is more prone to evaporation.
