    Well, IMHO ...

As far as companies go/went/whatever ..

Nintendo/Sega were 100x cooler than Microsoft/Sony ever can or will be, with SMS/NES, SNES/Genesis, particularly.

Microsoft is Satan, and Sony is Mephistopheles. I had an Xbox1, for me it sucked for various reasons. I had a PS2, it was okay but I sold it long long long ago.

Microsoft brand name, endless FPS, pay-monthly online charges, no hd/bd-rom, crazy prices, poor game selection = no purchase, maybe in 5 years when they're $50.

PS3 will only get me if the BD capability doesn't cost much more than a standalone movie unit. Would be worth it to me to mess with a compact Linux-capable media box for mp3, 1080p video, possible emus, etc, etc. Would probably never play a game on the thing though, and there are a LOT of ifs concerning me ever being interested in one.

Nope. Never say never, but I don't buy into the hype itself. The only console I ever bought on launch, and it doesn't really count anyway as it's a console rev, is the GBA SP.

I played the demos at my store, but other than that I could care less about the 360.

I always get "hyped" when a new system comes out but truth be told the 360 launch games are, in my opinion, week. I have bought the system(reserved since May) and have NO games and don't plan on getting any games at present time until I find something that interest me.

I have a bad habit of buying consoles at launch including 3D0, Jaguar and 32X and Sega CD. I don't know why I do it and you can beleive it has cost me LOTS of money but I just cant help it i guess.

Oh yeah I am "hyped" about the Revolution and the PS3 as well.

Did I get caught in the hype?

    Sure did.

I really wanted one at launch. There were a few titles outta the crappy launch list I wanted. After seeing all the BS associated with getting one last night or today totally turned me off to it. I have to salute Microsoft though. The core was the most brilliant thing they've ever planned. After creating a mass hype and rush for the system, a poor few desperate fools worldwide basically paid twice the core package to have the same things in the premium package. Excellent move on their part.

As for all the ebayers, I can't blame em. If I had the oppurtunity, I woulda camped for one and resold it in the blink of an eye just like them. I could use an extra 1,000 - 2,000$ for a few months of bills and gaming.

The release of a new home console always gets me a bit hyped.

When Oblivion was set to be a Xbox 360 launch game I was really excited about the console. But when it was delayed, some of my excitement faded. As the Xbox 360 launch approached, I found myself less and less hyped about it.

But overall, I'm far from through with the current generation (or is it last generation now? ) of consoles. I still have tons of games to play on the Gamecube, PS2 & Xbox.

I'll end up getting a X360 sometime next year.

I've always wondered about events where people stand in line for eight hours or more. How do you take a leak? Is it just a simple matter of having someone hold your place? What if whoever's running the line won't allow that? Surely no one could hold it for that long.

I want an X-Box 360, but it's too expensive right now. Actually, at this point I'd prefer a regular X-Box since I had about 25 games I didn't get to play before my X-Box's disc drive died.
