Default Game store employees, what were people buying?

Okay we all know that Black Friday probably rakes in alot if not the most game sales of the year. I work at a game store, and here is my perception that totally blew my mind of what sells and what does not.

-I now know why PS2 is still on top. I had a bizillion people come in and not only buy games but the system as well. Top games I saw sell were Lego Star Wars, Rachet and Clank(new one)

-We sold out of GBA SP systems and between those and the Gamecube, they were HOT. Gamecube I think sold well due to it only being 60 used. DS outsold the PSP easily 10 to 1 in my store. Mario Kart DS, Nintendogs were ones I saw people eying.

360? Would have sold great, but without systems, people simply just left. Microsoft lost alot of early sales today.

The Xbox simply did not sell well at all from what I saw. I figure many of its fanbase are waiting to buy the 360, so it made sense that business was lighter than usual.

This is just an observation of mine, what did others see today?

I'm not a game store employee, but I was at Best Buy at 5am and people were going crazy over the Mario Party 7 Gamecube bundle and the $29.99 dance pads + game bundles...

Big sellers were actually our used games. The buy 2 get 1 free deal went over pretty well.

EB Games' Christmas Bundles have been doing pretty well in our area as well. I'd actually pick up the XBox one if I didn't already have the system. 13 racing games in one box? HMMM goooood.

    Let's see what else...

A lot of the 'mainstream' titles seam to have fallen off, with more lesser-stream ones being bought up. Not too many Soul Caliber IIIs and WWE games sold, but a lot of the 2 Pack GBA games are flying out of the store.

Also, as much stress as the 360 has caused in retail chains, I have to admit that so far (knock on wood), the response has been actually pretty calm to being sold out. Last year when Xbox 1 and PS2s were sold out everywhere due to unforseen shortages, I had mothers coming after me with machetes and stuff. With most people already expecting to hear "Sold out" I think they're more inclined to look for something else, which helps us out more, because then we can work with alternatives.

    Overall, so far so good.

It was pretty much the same case at Gamerush, no one expected any rental to be in let alone the 360.
Big sellers as far as I could tell was the DDR Mariomix, along with anything else bearing Nintendo's name on it.
We now have about 5 used Xboxs, and I fear it'll take a good long time for them to sell. Meanwhile, we're running out of PSTwos and Gamecubes. Just goes to show you that when a family is involved, the more family-oriented companies bring in the dough.

Ah-ha! So the rumors of Gamecube's demise have been greatly exaggerated
