Okay - so from what I gathered - Sonic ADv LE is the same as the regular retail version with the exception of :

-the manual and the disc art
    -no japanese language setting
    -no internet functionality

and I just want to be clear about it - SA:LE DOES in fact save correctly througout the entire game?

Sorry to beat a dead gift horse in the mouth.

there are a few differences inside the respective regular and l.e. sonic adventure booklets:

page 5-where the regular booklet has the blurb on internet access on the bottom half, the l.e. version has the same picture of sonic that's on the cover

page 6-the l.e. version doesn't have the "language" box

page 14-the l.e. version is missing the "emblem results" box

page 31-the l.e. version is missing kiki and spiky spinner; they show up on the top of page 32 under "character introductions"

the inside of the back page of the l.e. edition is a full page list of credits, instead of the 1/2 page in the regular version. there is no warranty information in the l.e. version

there may be other smaller differences that i missed...

i thought there were 2 versions of sonic le. of course the one you guys are talking about, but i thought there was anotehr one, it said le on the case and instructions, but not on the game itself, and that the only thing that made it le was the fact that it came with a sonic 2 demo disk. could this be the reason why some people have different instruction books? maybe some people think they got a sonic le, but they got the sonic le that came out way later with the sonic 2 demo. i am pretty sure i am right, because i know for a fact that they put out a sonic with the sonic 2 demo disk, but i dont remember if they called it sonic le. i am pretty sure they did though.

mine is different than this one, because it has none of the hollywood video writing on it, so i'm figuring it's one of the later kiosk ones. it does definitely say "limited edition" on the disc itself and on the title screen though.

perhaps there are differences in the hollywood video manual as well...

i could be wrong and the disc could say le on it too, i am not sure, but i think it is the reason why there seem to be 2 different versions out there.

The one that comes with the Sonic 2 demo was the Sonic Adventure that was released with the system and Sonic Shuffle plus a blue memory card.

Just out of curiousity, what would the sonic LE disc by itself be worth?
When I was working at EB I got a dreamcast and asked my manager if i could have the demos we weren't using. I didn't even look at the pile until a few months ago and one of the discs is Sonic LE. I got it in a paper sleeve no instructions (but it was free). So what does everyone think it is worth for the disc alone?

arcade4ever, I don't know exactly what its worth but you can get a ball park idea by watching my auction on ebay which ends 27-Mar-04 22:09:40 EST.
The main difference is that I am also including the instruction booklet (same as described by leorange, 32 pages). This may bring up the value a bit but at least it gives you an idea. I'm also missing the cover art.
If anyone interested in photos of the instruction booklet or back art before it goes to a new home, send me an email.
    Cheers,
    Babar247

I was actually surprised to find out there were 3 different sonic versions that came out for the DC.

    - the LE version
    - the standard one
    - the all stars one

When I purchased my standard version a few months back, I got unlucky and actually got one of those that doesn't boot up.

I also have a Sonic 2 and sonic shuffle that freeze up!

What's up with the DC? I have 10 other games that work perfectly fine.

The other day I was in an EBGames store, and saw another sonic. I purchased it. Wow. What a mess.

The back, is a regular back. The manual is an LE manual, and the disc, it's the all stars one. The disc finally works fine! But I'm pissed at EB for selling me the first bad one (lost the receipt!) So I was thinking of taking the bad disc and returning it.

Mind you it has the LE manual.

So.. anyone interested? The disc is bad (even though it doesn't have a single scratch on it!) PM with offers, otherwise off it goes back to them.

Have you got a disc/case scan of this?

I can this weekend, but to break everything down, the case is set up like Phantasy Star was. It had a spot for the game disc and you could flip that over and on the other side of the plastic holder was the trial disc. On the back where the UPC was, it says "Not for Resale"

So it looks exactly like the standard SA case? No need to scan it then. Thanks for the info
