Default Zelda A Link to the Past - French Version eBay Auction

    Check this item out:

Its a French Canadian copy of The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. I assume its very rare, its not listed in the rarity guide. I'm a huge Zelda fan and just had to have this. I've only ever seen a complete one twice and I passed up the first one.

Anyone else seen one of these?

I wouldn't consider it rare... Didn't most NTSC games come with a Canadian-style, French manaul and inserts?
Oh yeah, and there's an ebay forum that this should go into.
Oh yeah, where are you from in Ottawa?

Well in Canada they probably did... part of the law that Nintendo abides by.

To answer both your questions yes Canada does have a law that states that all commercially sold goods must be sold with both official languages on the packaging, however it doesn't state anything about the content in the game having to be in both languages. About 99.9% of games sold outside of Quebec have no French in them at all. And even though this law exists its not stringently enforced so about 75% of all games sold in this country are English only front to back because of US suppliers.

And Jumpman Jr. this game is only in French, it was a special item for Quebec only. I'm sure there are plenty of other games released in French only in Quebec but this is the only one I know of that has any kind of popularity attached to it. And because this is a French only translation everything is in French the only English on it appears on the box and the cartridge stating to English speaking people that this game is in French only, oh and they didn't bother translating the title. And yes I probably should have put this in the eBay forum, my bad.

I live in the west end of Ottawa in Stittsville, where do you live?
