I'm bidding on a GBA cartridge from U.K. Think it will work just fine in my nephews' U.S. GBA - but need confirmation.

Yes, it will.
Egbert, I miss you...
Definitely yes. And Euro/Japanese DS games will work fine in a US DS too, in case you're wondering.

Does anyone happen to know offhand if Original GB games and GBC games from Europe will work in US systems?
Yep...the GB has always been region freeOriginally Posted by filmbucket
I believe all handhelds are region free. Correct me if there's any that's not. As far as I know, they all are. Even the PSP (they're only region-coded for movies)

turbo express wasn't and so was Nomad but then those were using normal hucard/carts so that's expected...
like mentioned I believe all true handhelds were region free...
I didn't think of those, but since they're using the carts from the consoles, and consoles are very rarely (almost never) region-free, that makes sense. BummerOriginally Posted by dj898

Actually, it's not that cut-and-dry. If the game itself has no region protection, then it is playable on the Nomad (the cartridge slot is big enough to fit Japanese/European games). However, if the game does have region protection, then a quaint little message will pop up that says something to the effect of "This game will only play in Japanese Genesises" or something to that effect. I believe there's a full Nomad compatibility list floating around somewhere, but I don't know exactly where it's at (try GameFAQs).Originally Posted by dj898
I've never had a TurboExpress, so I can't comment on that, but I believe it works the same way.
