Default Can someone give me some advice?

Ok, I am in kind of a bind here. I set up one of my items to be sold on ebay, saying that I only accepted paypal. I just checked my email and I have a message from a pottential buyer saying:

    Enter your question HELLO,
I VIEWED YOUR ITEM AND IT REALLY ENTIZED ME SO I WILL LIKE THE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF THE ITEM WHICH I WILL BE SENDING TO MY SON AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT WHICH WILL BE HELD THIS WEEK SO ALSO MY PAYMENT WILL BE THROUGH WESTERN UNION POSTAL ORDER WHICH IS FAST AND SECURED AND ONCE IT HAS BEEN APPROVED I WILL DO THE IMMEDIATE PICK UP THROUGH MY FEDEX ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY YOU ARE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL FROM WESTERN UNION. SO GET BACK TO ME WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS WHERE THE PAYMENT WILL BE SENT TO. GET BACK TO ME WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS IN THIS FORMAT SO IT CAN BE EASIER FOR ME WHEN SENDING IT TO WESTERN UNION NAME
    ADDRESS
    CITY
    STATE
    POSTCODE
    COUNTRY
    PHONE NUMBER (OPTIONAL),
    email address
    DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ITEM
    TOTAL AMOUNT
    OKAY
    THANKS
    JENNIFER
    regards
Is this a spoof message? I have never used Western Union before, and im not really sure how it works. Can someone explain it to me? I need the cash quick but can't seem to understand what exactly this girl is asking.

A lot of red flags here. Bright red ones. With red borders. And red flag posts.

    Go for it.

Nothing can go wrong for you since you're only giving out your address.

That's not true. The payment might bounce, causing you to lose your game if it's picked up by some FedEx guy. Then you don't have the game or the money. Just file an Unpaid Item Strike and tell the buyer that you're sorry and that you only accept PayPal. Then go into the seller settings and change it so that only PayPal buyers can bid on your stuff. That's what I did.

Basically, smells like a scam to me.

No don't. Mess with the person first. Ask for a picture. Their name. Their kid's name. Husband's name. What they're going to be doing for christmas and such.

If they bother answering all of those. I doubt it's a scam. If they don't respond after the 2nd or so, it's a scam.

yup, thats an old scam. I use to get those frequently around 2 years ago. Seemed to trail off for a while.

Hah! Don't you all remember the computer thing? You know, the ANUS computers? That dude from Africa who tried to scam the computer guy got scammed by the computer guy! The African man threatened him with the "clique" mobs and shit.

Update: Here! I've found the original thread! Never mind..
The Nigerian dude tried to use a check, but still, a fun read

    Default MOnkey butt

Scam, scam, scam scam. You will get a very official looking western union email saying that the money order has been sent and that it is ok to send off the item. The message is fake and there really is no money order coming. By the time you figure that out the item is long gone! Scamming the person right back is something I would suggest. Accept there offer and then use the FedEx info they send you to send them a huge box or rocks or something else that is heavy.
Condoleezza Rice is nice, but I prefer A Roni!

You know, I would laugh if that person was actually serious. And you're the only person who screwed them.
