I never like it when an auction says "0 feedback, please don't bid." I realize the seller just wants to get paid, but just because somebody has 0 feedback, it doesn't mean that he doesn't no how to do business over the interenet.
I actually have 0 feedback on ebay. I've boughten a few things, but the sellers never left feedback on all occasions. I try to stick to DP buys rather than resort to ebay.

Why the disclaimer? Ebay lets you block (0) feedback bidders.

I don't care. Many times the buyer already has a Paypal account, or they can pay with a money order. And we were ALL 0 feedback users at one time, so I think of it as unfair to the bidder.

    Not that I'm aware of they don't. The only bidders that you can block are;

Are registered in countries to which I don't ship
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower (nothing here about zero feedback)
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days
While I admit that I sometimes feel a little uncomfortable when a zero feedbacker wins one of my auctions I can't say that I remember the last problem that I've had from one of them.

Be careful with zero feedback bidders... especially ones that use "buy it now". I recently foiled a scam in which a newbie buyer with the nick "osa_09" attempted to purchase a PS2 from me. I noticed he had just registered that day, and had no feedbacks, so I figured something was up. I sent out an invoice and an E-Mail that gave him 3 days to reply or I would leave negative, and the item would be relisted, and got a reply three hours later that he wanted me to ship to Nigeria (my auction stated "ships to US and Canada only"), that he would pay the extra shipping, and he wanted my paypal E-Mail addy so he could pay immediatly. I figured if he actually paid for the shipping, it would be ok, so I gave him my E-Mail (which he should have already had), and waited for payment. Needless to say he never paid, and today I get a mail from eBay saying his account had been suspended. Also in my box was, a mail from "paypal" saying that I had some shit go down with my account, and needed to confirm info to reactivate it. I actuaully bought into this, becuase I recently registered another paypay account with the same CC#, plus I checked the link, and it was " http://www.paypal.com.us-cgi-bin.us/...complaint-view ", which at first glance looks legit. I clicked on, and logged in, and it had my address, and other info that could be easily grabbed from purchasing an item from a seller on eBay, and wanted my credit card security number, and routing number for my bank account. I immediatly went and changed my password on my REAL paypal account, and mailed them the link, and told them about the situation. This could have easily been a huge loss for someone that didn't pick up on it, so be careful selling to n00bs. Especially ones that use buy it now.

*EdIt* This guy just sent me a fake paypal receipt saying that he paid for the PS2, and want's me to give him my address, and tell him when I'm going to be home, so he can have Fedex pick up the item from my house, and have it shipped to him... It just keeps getting better.

I only mention the "If you have 0 feedback please contact me before bidding" if its on an item that will exceed $100. Other than that I'm fine with it.

No they don't.. check again. When listing an item.. they let you choose to automatically reject bidders with an "overall in the neg" feedback; but not "zeroes". Think about it.. this is one feature eBay will NEVER implement.. just think of all the irate "newbs" they'd get complaints from.

Personally though.. I wish they'd put a zero blocker AND a "shades" (People members for less than 30 days; used to use a "sunglasses" icon.) blocker in.

I have nothing personally against new bidders; but as a seller.. it's in my rights to refuse them; and if you've had as many "deadbeat" NPBs as most sellers have.. you'll find that 99% of them fall into these catagories.

If I get a 0 feedback bidder, the first thing I look at is what else he/she is bidding on. If they are bidding on nothing else or if it's the usual hodgepodge of stuff, the bid stands.

If they are bidding on 50 identical items like mine, then they're fishing for the best deal and will reneg on all the other "wins." Those get shitcanned immediately. (Unless they actually are hoping to win 50 identical copies of the exact same PS2 game.)

I don't really worry about 0 bidders... besides they are usually the ones making things go for so much money on ebay. I do check out what they have been bidding on just out of curiosity.

I DO NOT leave feedback for 0 bidders or low bidders until feedback is left for me, because since they are new, could leave negative feedback for no reason.

No offence to DP members but I might start a rule on my auctions... no buyers registered in the USA with 0 feedback may bid.

I had a NES on eBay a few days ago and it sold to a 0 feedback USA bidder in Texas, of course no contact, no nothing even though I waited a week. I phoned them up! from UK to USA, and the idiot didnt know that it was a UK console, displayed a different TV format etc... and shipping was a killer.. said he'd be in contact..

Relisted it a couple of weeks later, sold really quick.. to another 0 feedback US bidder, I phoned him up and he pretended that his brother bid etc... total b/s I was so annoyed because I had used buy it nows and it was expensive and then you have to wait about 2 weeks to get your listing fees back off eBay before you can relist.. talk about time wasting or what..

I dont restrict 0 feedback bidders from my auctions though, and I have been surprised in the past (0 feedback US bidders actually paying ! !)

If its someone from Europe, there's never a problem, the people from the scandinavian countries always pay up.. had a few problems with France, but other than that.. all good.

Newbies are great cause most of them have money to blow and are quite inexpereinced with the ways of eBay This normally means they raise the price of your auction. I've never had any problems with a newbie... they're smart enough to know that if they don't pay they're not getting the item.

Come on, we were all No0bs at one point. I really don't discriminate. If anything I would be more willing to wait a bit longer or explaine how things work to a under 10 noob than to wait a longer time on someone who has over 100. Give them a break, we all started somewhere!

Nes-a-holic, I was playing the Adventures of Link last night and I came across the character in your avitar. It didn't make much scence to me, but I knew I have seen him somewhere before. Is there a reason he says that in the game? He didn't seem to do anything else in the game as far as I could tell, so what's the deal?
Condoleezza Rice is nice, but I prefer A Roni!
