Well the game sucks,bt I guess I'll haveto get one now.
EDIT:They have the guide for $6 at Ebgames, but no game.Gamestop.com has the game for $40.Maybe I should get it......
My question is, if Chojin sucked so bad, why is Microsoft still promoting Sneakers?
This kind of thing is like what the government did in Orwell's novel, 1984.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
Because with Sneakers, they only have to worry about losing it to one retailer, KC however, is carried by many.Originally Posted by josekortez

This is a *tip* in my Tips & Tricks column for the April issue!
I'd recommend jumping on these, but don't go nuts - The $39.99 Gamestop price is pretty steep, hunt around if you can. Even used is good at this point. I don't know much about the recall but my sources tell me this is in fact the case.
Got some more info from an Asian friend. See our main news page for details!
Word is it was recalled for questionable relogious content. Sounds like they're really pulling it so they can drive the price up and sell their overstock on eBay since it's been "recalled" and wasn't selling on shelves! Think a company would do that? I know it's gonna jump on eBay, but I can't bring myself to purchase it. Blech.

That's funny, because the fact that it's recalled for questonable religious content (again, see our front page) only makes me want to see it MORE. And though I may not be exactly "normal", I have a pretty good finger on the pulse of the collecting community. If I'm a little intrigued, I'm willing to bet that it's intriguing.
And you know what that means.
Bling. Bling.
Does anyone know what this "questionable religious content" is? Rumor has it that the potentially offensive material consists of several quotes from the Koran mixed into a music track, but I find it hard to believe that a company would pull a game from shelves over that.
You know, I actually wanted to try out Kakuto, seeing as how I'm a fan of Dream Factory's PSX fighters. (Yes, I even like the much-criticized Ehrgeiz). Maybe I should seek out a copy while I still can.
I better hurry to get the game before it is too late.
They previewd the game in the latest GI issues also I know that...

Lucky enough to have recieved a copy of this game for free. I played through the whole thing in about 20mins. It's SO easy. Nice to hear it may at least be a rarity. It does look nice though. Some of the visuals are sweet. The whole package appears a little incomplete though.
So, did you see these questionable religious overtones that got the game pulled?Originally Posted by congobongo

Pretty sure the game doesn't say that, but it made me laugh heartily.
EDIT:
Just contacted Gamestop and there was no emails from corporate mandating a recall yet. I'm sure all of that will change come Monday.
Just FYI.
amazon has the game new for 29.99
I have a lovely story to tell!
I just read this morning that the X-Box fighting game Kakuto Chojin is being pulled from shelves due to questionable religious content. I don't have an X-Box, but I have a friend who does and I can't resist the pull of a possible rarity.
I stopped by Perimeter Mall in Atlanta on my way home from an errand and went to the Electronics Boutique. I asked if the female employee (the only one in the store) if they had Kakuto Chojin. She said they might have it in used... it was there priced at $40. I took it to the counter, along with "The Thing" game for my friend, priced at $20.
She rang up the Kakuto Chojin and said "uh..oh." I said "what?" expecting her to say that she couldn't sell it. She said "This is weird. It only costs 1 cent. I've never seen that happen before. I said "so..." She said "It must be your lucky day!" and rang up both games. Grand total with tax: $21.40
I immediatley went upstairs to the Gameworld or whatever it is (affiliated with EB) and asked about the game. He said it was a "1 cent return" game and that they had been instructed to throw all copies away because "it was a terrible game". I offered him $20 for a copy. He said he had three that he could not sell. I offered him $80 for all three. He stupidly called his manager on the phone, who promptly refused my offer. Oh, well. I didn't tell him why it was recalled or that I had a 1 cent game in my bag from their sister store in the mall. Didn't want to get the great/awful girl in trouble.
Thanks, uninformed EB employee! It was nice of you to be sweet and uncaring and not even question a game marked $40 being sold for 1 cent. You made my day!
Apparently the questionable religious content was the phrase
"Jesus is a queer,"
found somewhere within the game.
Conform. Consume. Obey.
MY local Taget has about 6 copoies this morning for $29.99...I picked one up
might pick one up....More FYI, xbox.com doesn't have the game listed anymore in it's game list, so it looks like they're trying to make it look like this game never existed.....the news has also hit ebay, as last night a copy went for $70, another for $52, and $35 BIN's that wouldn't have sold in a million years, are gone....looks like the real deal....if it is a hoax, a bounch of people are gonna get taken, if not, the is not much time to pick it up cheap.
MankeyMan: That was actually a joke on Penny Arcade. I've heard that the "slur" in question was the use of the Koran in one of the endings. It's pretty moronic, really. Nobody offered to pull Xenogears from store shelves, yet when Muslims suffer the slighest indignity we're supposed to do everything possible to appease them? Fuck that. When you start treating your own women with respect, maybe you'll get a little yourself. Until then, don't come to us with your whining.

To all of the "big guys" around here (you know who you are), where exactly did you find out that it was going to be recalled before MS made the official announcement?
Also, I don't know if I'd rely on Target if I were you. I just got back from the store, and the employees there KNEW that the game had been recalled. The guy I talked to indicated that their HQ had them all pulled back, which means you probably wouldn't be able to buy it online either.
It is true it has been recalled--I just bought a brand new copy of it on Half.com for $29.99!! I would highly recommend people to buy it while you can!!
