    Default Weekend Finds - 7 / 8th January

We were cleaning out the attic, and I came across my childhood toys. Beneath all the lego and what not, were all my old Adventure Game boxes, now to find the CDs :P

Two Indy Games, Monkey Island 1 and 2, Broken Sword 2, The Gene Machine (this one pretty much sucks), Double Trouble, Simon 2, Full Throttle and not pictured: Sim Town and Rise of the Triad.

    Good luck this weekend guys.

A STELLAR day for me, though it started as a disappointment as the dirt mall I usually frequent was dead as a doornail, aside from the stubborn vendors who refuse to hide from the 30 degree temps this morning. So I made the trip to another flea market about half an hour away, which I only visit about once every two months or so.

And boy, was the drive worth it.

Plok SNES (factory sealed!) - $15
    Teleroboxer (loose) - $3
    SWATKats (loose) - $4
Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures (loose) - $4
    Big Sky Troopers - $5

Funny note on Plok; the guy who sold it to me noted that it was factory sealed and asked if I was going to open it. I replied "Probably". I thought he was going to pass out right there! *L*

    Sorry for the blurriness :P
    Amagon (loose) - $4
    Heavy Barrel (loose) - $4
Eek! The Cat (loose) - $4
    Pocky & Rocky 2 (loose) - $5

The bottom of P&R2 looks like it'd been sitting in still water, and I noticed some blue corrosion on the contacts. I bought it in hopes that I can clean it up again. Keep yer fingers crossed, cause it looks really funky. EDIT: Finally got it working after about an hour of taking it apart and cleaning the hell out of the contacts. I ended up having to pull it out about a quarter of an inch on one side to get it to power on at all.

Headed out this morning to Circuit City to pick up an Xbox Super Monkey Ball deluxe for $13, and a GC Geist for $10 at TRU. My route took me by a Goodwill I usually only hit on weekdays...glad I decided to stop in:

Picked up a complete Mutant League Football, and a MINT complete Pirates Gold, including map! $2.99 each...not a bad start to the weekend!

Not a bad find I suppose. Pretty good price too, it was half off and then i got my student discount. At least school came in handy for once.

Went to the pawn today to check out the crapload of PS1 games they had last time I was there. Turns out they sold about all of the except sports games.... But I didn't come out empty handed.

    18-19 N64 game manuals 4$

First time time I've saw manuals by themselves EVER in the wild. So it was a great find for me. And there's like only 1 sports game manual in there, which is NFL Blitz 2001! Wahoo!

I was set on getting a bunch of stuff today so I went to quite a few shops. So, what did I get?

Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits - $9.98
Pac 'N Roll - $29.99 (BB sells it for $20 but they had no copies lleft I wanted this one real BAD!)
Next I stopped at a local chain store and picked up some of their resonably priced NES games (commons bin). I picked up Faxandu, Twin Cobra, Section Z, Starship Hector, Burai Fighter, Little Nemo: Dream Master , Power Blade , and Kid Kool. They were buy one get one free and the total was $21 so I got them for around $2 a piece. Not too bad.

Next I wen't to a dingy, dusty, generally high priced pac-rat store. They had quite a few good games, especially NES ones. Unfortunately, they like sticking scotch tape in the middle of the cart label to write their ridiculously high prices on . I did find Truxton, boxed, for the Genesis. At $15, it was a bit steep, but I've wanted this Toplan shmup for a long time now, so I didn't care.

Last stop was GameCrazy. Nothing really stood out to me. I needed another Genny pad so I picked one up on the cheap for $1. Low and behold, underneath it was a SMS pad! I don't even own an SMS, but had to have it for $2. My first piece of SMS history, and it looks like it might be compatible for use on a Genesis.

Anyway, here's a pick of all my stuff:

i hit a pawn shop in the morning and found Super mario rpg...sticker said 7.99...i asked if she would take 5 for it...she looked at it and said to me..."this is the wrong price sticker...its supposed to say $2.50."

    i didnt argue with her

later tonight i had some time to kill so i hit a couple of game stores that are far from my normal hunting grounds.Went into EB games, went straight to the old ratty PS1 shelf and found a completecopy of..................Valkyrie Profile. Needless to say i just stared at it for awhile trying to come to terms with what i was seeing! When it finally sunk in i snatched it up and promptly went to give them my hard earned $44.95...never letting go of the game through the whole purchasing process.

i think i did pretty good this weekend, but now im tapped out so im think im done for this weekend...happy hunting

I know that people like pictures (myself included), but I am just way too lazy. This weekend I got:

-Pirates! Gold (complete with map) (Genesis)
    -Shadowrun (boxed, no manual) (Genesis)
-Minty complete but not currently working Aladdin Deck Enhancer (NES)
-Minty complete Linus Spacehead for the Aladdin
    -Super Monkey Ball (GCN)
-A few loose NES and SNES games including Venice Beach Volleyball (R6)

I have literally been looking for Pirates! for years. I love the game and was getting really tired of playing it via an emulator. Shadowrun was just bonus gravy. People say that it is a great Genny RPG, so I am looking forward to checking it out at some point. I am also hopeful that I can get the Aladdin to work. It is in mint condition, as is the packaging and all of the included crap, but it just doesn't want to work. I cleaned the contacts, but it is being stubborn. In any case, for the price I paid for it, it was a steal even if it's broken.

Picked up Madden 2003 (xbox) for $4.99 at Blockbuster today. I have been thinking about picking up a football game for awhile now, I figured at that price I couldn't go wrong.
