    Default ...uhhh...how reliable is engadget.com?

    WTF is this about?

    http://www.engadget.com/2005/12/11/s...cast-in-japan/

Sega's not flapping their yapper so far as we can tell, but German gaming site Gamefront.de is claiming they're going to be re-releasing the frickin' Dreamcast bundled with Radilgy and some limited edition telephone card or something. But our wish come true from the Ghost of Hackable Consoles Past will probably be Japan-only though, distributed through Sega Direct for ¥10,000 (about $83 US) — still, could this be the triumphant return of Sega hardware, even if only just nostalgia-gear? Apparently we'll find out February 16th (or sooner).

This was brought up a few months ago, I think most people came to the conclusion it was just refurbished systems.

I'd trust them with my life, ok not really, but I do trust what they report.

Anyway, SEGA is technically rereleasing the DC, but they are assembling/reassembling from the parts they have left. I believe they've done this a few times.

    Keep the DC alive, man!!

I think Play-Asia states specifically that they are refurbished, so it's not like they're manufacturing them again, methinks.

They're just refurbished Dreamcasts being sold with Rajirugi and Under Defeat. That's it, not a rerelease. Even Sega Direct's webpage says these "new" Dreamcasts might have some dirt on them.

JUST REFURBS PLAYA. They've done it before.

{EDIT - PS Engadget is wack.

Endgaget and the entire Weblogs family are reliable. They are professionals and as such the site needs reliable reporting.

I just wanted to throw in another vote of confidence for Engadget. I read it daily at work, and when they did post the Dreamcast thing, they were quick to point out that they were refurbished systems when they learned of it.
