    Default Panzer Dragoon Saga-help please!

I bought this game off of ebay the other day. All the discs were okay except Disc 2 which has a pretty deep scratch. So I popped all the discs into my Saturn to check them. Discs 3 and 4 loaded up fine, showing the Team Andromeda screen followed by the PDS title screen. Disc 2 shows the Team Andromeda screen, then the goes into the Saturn dashboard reading "checking application". Just making sure that it's the scratch that's screwing things up and not the fact that that's just how Disc 2 works. Anyone have PDS, can you help me? Thanks!

I figured it was the scratch. I told a co-worker about my dilemma and he said he has a machine that can clean up scratches on discs. So figuring I had nothing to lose, I gave him the aforementioned PZD disc #2. While it cleaned up the minor wispy scratches, the big deep scratch is still there. So I popped it into my Saturn just now and....oh my god! The disc works!!! Now my only concern is this; will the scratch come into play later when let's say I'm halfway through disc #2 then all of a sudden, it screws up again? I guess what I'm asking now is if a disc is screwed up, would it not show up until later during play? Thanks again in advance!

Its possible that later into the disc it could screw up again. Unfortunately the only way to know is to play it...not much help I know

The semi-good news is that you can usually find individual discs of this game on ebay (most of the time cheap). So worst comes to worst, you can get another disc 2 for like $25. Once again, not the best news, sorry.

Darn. Well, i've got my fingers crossed that it'll hold out without any problems. I've looked online for separate discs, so far, only seen Disc 1. I'd definitely pick up a mint disc 2 if i see one! Or if anyone has one they want to sell....

    Thanks for your help, guys!

I've thought of having it resurfaced. I actually just heard about resurfacing done at Game Crazy stores from a friend the other day. But the scratch is really deep. So much so that it honestly looks like a crack. Not sure if it's too deep or not for resurfacing to do any good.

Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Try to get it done when you're the only customer in the store and make sure the person using the machine knows what the hell they're doing. If there's no one else in there the employee will usually take their time and work at getting the scratch out instead of just giving it the standard runthrough.

    Default hmmm...

I believe they sell stuff to fill the cracks as well (Gamestop?). It seems likely you will have trouble with that disc at some point...save often.
