As a kid I always got a kick outta the SF2 ports, because
they couldn't handle the depth or whatever it may be,
this one fool in Guile's stage -- looked like he was Cyclops.
Long live the one-eyed 'port' monster!

Where? I just dont see it.
The guy sat on the box? To the right of the one in sunglasses in the middle of the screen?
If I wore bulky red sun glasses as well, can I be cyclops as well?
I just don't see the Cyclops either...
silliest thread competition winner goes to...........
Nah come on the guys got glasses on, hardly what id call a
cyclops now, emuaust wips the sunnies out of his pocket.
zomg I have a sig
After long study, I think he means the guy holding the girl in the first pic. It looks like he has two eyes to me, but if you don't focus your gaze the two eyes kind of combine and look like one giant eye.
the port-clops
no he actually means the guy sitting on the box facing the
right, if you look at the port there is only brown pixels
making up half of his face. Look at the arcade then the port
and you will see what he means.

I don't understand how so many people can not see what he's talking about.
BTW, Ryu has a uni-eye on the SNES version during his victory pose. It's sort of like a unibrow, except it's when your eyes grow together and meet in the middle. My cousin and I used to laugh at that in the course of mocking the SNES' poor resolution.
Well jeez, if I realized there were PRIZES, I would've posted...
Took me a while to understand wtf you were talking about as well. I'm not sure the effect would really be amplified on a composite system; the guy's clearly got a left side of his face. Not sure if there's an eye in there, though...
I still can't see it. Every person in the background there looks like they have two eyes :POriginally Posted by Wavelflack
The SNES guy 2nd from the right has one distinct eye, and a shadow mess (where his left eye is "suggested").
I think it's the combination of a single distinct eye, the mildly deformed face, and the "O" mouth that cement the cyclops analogy for me.
His head is just tilted, that's like saying sagat has only one eye....socket in Retsudo's sig picture because he's looking sideways. Doesn't make him a cyclops (anymore than sagat already is anyways)

Yeah, if the SNES guy only has one eye, then Ryu only has four toes on one foot in the arcade version. Now I've looked at the feet too long and they just look bad. You've ruined everything for me....Originally Posted by Ed Oscuro

Good grief.
Why so many people miss the inherent humor of the original post...I'll never understand. I don't think the original poster was arguing that the character was literally Cyclops.
Next up: "What's so funny about the Zero Wing intro? Obviously it was mistranslated, but it's not like they did it on purpose. I'll bet that the original idea, pre-translation, was really cool and dramatic."
After that, we can move on to more important topics. Non-silly topics where we will get the definitive answer to questions such as:
"How many 16-bit titles had zebras as bosses?"
"Are there any games besides Virtua Racing that had a title screen that says 'Virtua Racing'?"
"Are arcades dead?"
"Top 100 Adventurevision games"
etc.
