    Default Tototek Flash Carts

Has anybody here tried one of the Tototek flash carts? I'm looking into picking up the SNES one and perhaps the Genesis one. I'm curious how the flash cart compares to a cpoier for playing games.

I've got a GD7 with ToToTek RAM in it and it works perfect. Not exactly the same thing, but they do put out quality product. Though, when I ordered mine.. 3 years ago.. it took FOREVER to get it shipped to me.

Almost every one says they get their stuff less than a week...usually 3 days or so from Tototek, worldwide. Tomy is know to be pretty darn speedy for the most part, though he really doesn't have the fastest skills in replying to emails, heh heh.

Less so than the mailing experience.. I'd be interested in hearing people's experiences with the SNES Flashcart. I've been thinking of snagging one of those myself

You might want to look at the Copier and Hardware Forum at Cherryroms.com (no, there aren't any ROMs on the site), there's a bunch of talk there about the SNES Flash Cart if you search for it.

i just worry about the part you hook into the computer. i'll put a case around the board part, but i worry about the bare board part that transfers the data from the computer to the cart.

So for anyone interested in buying one to load translated roms... what do you buy?

For SNES there's 4 different items available I just want to be able to transfer them and play.

I saw this earlier but couldn't respond until I got home. That avatar, yowza!

There are really only two to choose from. One is just the card only, the other comes with a blank cart shell to protect the card. If you have an SNES cart you're willing to sacrifice and a bit to open it, you can skip that and save yourself the five bucks.

I don't know why they're listed at $70 on the front page and $50 under "hardware" though. Also to program it you'll need that USB cable. With that and the card you should be able to dump ROMs onto the card and play them on a real SNES.

I don't have the Nintendo one but I do have the Genesis one and it works perfect.

I posted this a while ago. I ended up going with the Bung Doctor SF7 / SF 2 Professor. I've been happy with it.

Thanks for the help But I have a few more questions.

I think the one that's just the card is $50, and with the "Programmer" it's $70.

There's also something called a "Super T Connector" and a little chip called a "CIC-161"

Still a little lost about what I need to get here. It looks like i'd need the programmer to transfer the roms to the cart, but this chip and super T connector... dunno about them.

Also, for anyone who has used this. Are all games able to work? Including games such as Star Ocean?

I have the Master System card. It work fine, breaks on a few games, the software (both on the cartridge and for transfers) is rather poor. Comes warmly recommended.
The main problem is getting your computer to speak to the programmer. You need an EPP parallel port.
