anyone have probs with guncon2 on hdtv?

Bought one with crisis zone today for 17 but yet , cant get it to work on my widescreen hd tv.

Basically, Light guns dont work on HDTV's. From my understanding, the basic idea behind a lightgun dosn't work because the component in a regular TV isn't in an HD set. I'm not sure on the specifics, but I'm sure someone else here does.

Yeah they only work on normal tvs.

Yup, HDTVs fuck with the scan rate of the image, which makes the gun completely unable to read the timing properly. You'll just have to suck it up and buy a little normal set to play gun games. Heh. (This is precisely one of the reasons I don't want an HDTV yet.)

I have a little 13 inch TV that I use for gun games..works quite well.

Mine works on my 36" Toshiba CRT set, although it's 4:3, not widescreen. I put the yellow video connector on the Guncon into the green plug of the component video inputs.
The guns are know to not work on rear projection, LCD or plasma sets.

yeah, I have a panasonic Tau 4:3 CRT, my NES zapper games don't work on it. I do use the RCA inputs though.

Anyway this question has been plaguing me too. I figured it was scanrate, so i never bothered to ask. maybe using coax instead of RCA input will fix it. I'll try someday cuz my 27 inch regular tv isn't as cool as my 36" HD

If you use component cables, the Namco games recognize the pro-scan and make you shoot at two different points on the screen during the gun alignment.

The Zapper doesn't work on my set, neither does the Saturn gun.
