Default Xbox dead or alive save file querry

awile ago a friend said he'd sell/trade/give me his xbox

he gave me the system and I bought a few games and played them a bit.

he changed his mind when a OMG KEWL NEW GAME came out.

I put several hours into dead or alive 2:ultimate and a couple star wars games (kotr and the two battlefront games)

    I feel stupid..

but anyways, is there a way I can transfer my save files onto a memory card or a new system without modding either?

I'd like to save all that work unlocking stuff..but I know very very little about the system itself, and I don't really want to buy a memory card and find out you can't transfer those particular save files
also outlaw golf and syberia I had save files on ..but they aren't terribly far so its not a big deal if i lose those ones.

    thanks for any help.

Buy a mem card, just transfer it in the dashboard.

    Simple as that.

Umm, no it isn't. Tecmo games bind themselves to hardware (DAMN YOU ITAGAKI!!). It's part of their Anti-Hacking initiative. The same thing applies to DOA4, you can't move that save once you create it.

damn that sucks, saves me 30-40$ on gettting a mem card,

I guess i can just beat the game a billion times again to unlock the costumes and get all the survival stuff

maybe i should just gameshark it or something to get where I was...

Hahah really? Sorry had no Idea, thought the issue was moving it from a modded to not.

    Never knew Tecmo did that.

    Damn that sucks a lot.

I believe Burnout 3 was the same way.

If you don't want the take the "beat the game repeatedly" route you can also unlock everything simply but getting all items in survival. It takes about 6 hours to do that.

Be careful, some of the Lucas Arts games are being HDD bonded as well. I lost all my DOA stuff as well as some StarWars (Lego SW off the top of my head) stuff when I spent the oodles of time putting everything onto memory cards and transfering it to my new Xbox a few months ago.

It wouldnt matter with the DOA stuff as it is. All the game saves are way bigger than the XBox memory card (which is only 540ish blocks).
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

yup thats what i was working on.
I had all the common items for everyone and a few of the rare items for each (and like 3 proto xboxes) I just got my favorate charecters costumes all done first, then worked on that.

i spose it will be fun playing again
but i do have to beat the game once with evveryone to unlock some of the charecters (the tengu guy i think) but yeah the game is awesome enough to warrent playing again.

just playing with the stupid old man and ninja guy again makes the baby megatron cry ;-)
