    Default Game Boy Gameshark problem

I finally get one of these things, and I can't get it to work. I tried it in a GB Pocket, original GB, and Super GB and all I got was the Nintendo logo on all 3 (it stayed at the Nintendo logo after startup)

It says it's for GB Color and GB Pocket games, so my best guess is that I need a GB Color, but before I spend the cash on one I wanted to ask here if this is a fixable problem.

i believe it's intended for use in a GB color, but it will work with GB or GB color games. If you have a GBA try it in that, and if that doesnt work you may just have to lay down the $5 and get a GB color

It works in my GBASP, although in a tricky fashion. Is the Nintendo logo clear looking or does it look scrambled?

It's a normal-looking Nintendo logo, it just freezes at that point. Now I'm almost positive it's a GB Color thing.

I bought one of those brand-news a couple of years back, and I only ever got it to work twice. It does work with both GB and GBC games, and it should work on any device that supports the classic games. However, mine just seems to have a really horrible connection, because I don't see anything but a block in place of the Nintendo logo until I put carts in between the connected cart and the case of the system, to push the connected cart outwards. I've also always gotten the exact same response on an actual GBC, an original GBA, or a sidelit GBASP (haven't even bothered to try it with my backlit SP for obvious reasons). Dunno if this'll help for you, but as long as you don't force it too much, you shouldn't break your Gameshark.
