    Default Digital Press Article Updates!

It's a new year, so here's a new thread where we'll be announcing all the latest articles to hit the Digital Press site. What? The site has articles? You betcha! Those of you (like myself) who have bookmarked the forums and come in "through the backdoor" so-to-speak should check out the front page from time to time!

This week's update is an interview with James Patchell, creator of the Atari 1050 Duplicator. The interview was conducted by our own Scott "Stonic" Stilphen, and is a great read!

lol.. I would soo have been out of that when the term, "paid in crack cocaine" was used by my contracter.

good stuff. I'd love to also see an interview with the guys who wrote Maurader for the Amiga and the Epyx Fastload cart.

This week's article comes to us from Berserker. In his new column FREE for ALL, Berserker finds, reviews and links to games that are completely free and legal to download and play. Berserker's current Free for All article deals with a genre that is near and dear to my heart - Point-and-Click Adventures!

    http://www.digitpress.com/columns/freeforall.htm

PS: If you like this article, be sure and drop Berserker a PM and let him know. This is is first one, and I personally think he did a great job!!

I'll be looking forward to Berzerker's article on free shooters.

How come the title reads "3DO Part I"? That got my juices flowing.

D'oh -- I suppose it's no secret which other article I used as a beginning template now! (Fixed -- thanks for the spot!)

This week's article, another brand new column, was written by Kid Ice. In "Double Jeopardy", Kid Ice takes "the worst of the worst" to court to determine once and for all if they are as bad as their reputations claim.

In the court of public opinion, bad videogames are considered especially heinous. In the world of classic gaming, these games are often ignored by two separate, but equally important groups: the collectors who hoard them; and the gamers who avoid them. Now, a dedicated gamer, a member of an elite squad of DP columnists, will investigate one of these vicious travesties. This is his story.

On trial this week: Superman 64

There are several different ROMs for World Class Bowling...the later ones have the bad sound effects you described. Try version 1.1 (or something like that)

You're right, a trackball is an absolute must. But with a trackball the game is bliss, one of my MAME favorites. It's the only video bowling game IMO that captures the feel of getting on a hot streak with a mechanical bowler.

Scott "Stonic" Stilphen has submitted another interview, this time with Atari's Harry Brown. Brown originally began working for Atari as a beta tester, and eventually became a programmer. Lots of neat facts in this one!
