    Default Modded PS2 question.

I got my ps2 modded while I was in mexico, It plays games fine and all. But is there a way to play back up ps1 games on it? I'm not sure what chip it is at all, just that they got it from mexico city. If I could download anything to sort of Flash something in the ps2 it would be great help.

I think with some mod chips, you just put the CD-R in and mod chip detects it or did you try that already?

Yea, Tried that. It reads CD-R ps2 games, just not ps1. I know like for some devices, you need a CD to flash the software in order for it to play burnt games, I think its swapmagic maybe?

It depends on the chip on how you start the PSX games. On my chip (Messiah 1) you have to insert the game and press reset twice for PSX backups/imports to boot.
If it doesnt work for you, google your modchip and you will most likely find out how to start PSX games.

You *have* to know what chip is in there. There are literally hundreds of them.

I have an early ps2 modchip but to play movies and ps1 games I have to turn it on by pressing and holding the power button until the blue cd tray lights up. after this I have to turn it off in the back and tap the on button to play ps2 again.
