Who will win the console war of 06?

I think the Revolution will be the best because Nintendo generally comes out with some inventive tools of gameplay.

But I believe the question refers to who will sell more systems, not who will be the "best". The only way the Revolution sells more systems than the PS3 in 2006 is if the PS3 launches in 2007. The only way the Revolution sells more systems than the 360 in 2006 is if hell freezes over.

Based on what we've both been hearing and seeing about the PS3 i'd say it won't make it out in the US until the very end of the year, if at all. Because of this i think the 360 will be the Next gen winner by default. Nintendo just doesn't have the brand power to win yet.

totally agreed. the ps3 date keeps getting pushed back, and the revolution won't be out until thanksgiving.

I think I'm missing your point. Are you trying to say that just because Japanese people lined up around the block on opening day that 13 million DSver.1.0 owners have gone and bought 13 million DSver.2.0? Uhh, no. And tell me Merlin, how exactly do you know that all those folks lined up have DSver.1.0 and are upgrading? It's a pretty picture tho'. x_x

The current gen console war (it's not next-gen, X360 is already on the market), my heart would say X360 will win for it's amazing online service and impressive lineup of games, but realistically those wacky japanese will buy PS3 in droves, making it number 1 again, with 360 in 2nd and Rev in 3rd.

When the Rev2, X720, and PS4 are released I think it'll be a different story. I think people will be fed up with being spoonfed bullshit by Sony and disappointed at the unfulfillec promises it rams down our throat about PS3 and will wise up and avoid the system like it's made out of herpes and laced with elephant spunk, leaving M$ with the top spot, followed closely by Nintendo
