Try loading Streets of Rage 2 (US, I say this game since it's dirt common) in JPN mode to test compatibility, it should tell you that it's developed for the US only. Also, are you sure Japanese Mega Drive games will fit in that cartridge slot? Usually the rounded parts of the cartridge slot opposite to where the tabs are (that need to be removed as you have done) need to be ground wider - I haven't modded a Genesis 1 in a long time though but I'm pretty sure more clearance is still needed.

    Free bump.

Hmm, thank you my man. Again, without a true JP cart I couldn't check the clearance on the cart slot. I'll have to see if I have a SoR2 cart for the JP/US check, although the lack of trademark on Sonic 2 gives me pretty good hope that the JP/US switch works.

No problem at all. A good way to look at the cartridge slot for a Mega Drive game is to think of putting a Genesis cartridge in turned around (with the curve to the back) - while it's not THAT extreme, MD carts stick out as far as the back edge of a Genesis cart in the center, then curve to the front and back. It's like a solid cart with a half circle (when looking from the top) on each side.

bump for new fully tested and redone genesis. Even re-dremeled the case so the switches actually sit better in the system!

    Free bump for ya!

I was going to give you a tip of advice for any future Genesis modding projects.

When you cut the cart slot so it can accept MD games use two of the "back flaps" that come on a Genesis system. The squared off back flaps allow clearance for carts and also give the opening better cover from dust and no gaps!

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces. -The Sizz
