Rare Xbox Games

Well, I hit 1 (out of about 26 Gamestops in Columbus) and found 1 XBox game worth buying...

It had a $15 price tag on it...rang up at $8. Amazing how I had been to at least 15 of the other stores in town, and never saw it...then I mention it as possibly being harder to find and POOF

Any clues? More pics in the link. Disc and Manual look the same, was the cover just a preorder bonus? It looks like each one is numbered.

It´s legit. I owned it a while ago. Think about the same game as in the pc, but with a little better graphics.

That looks pretty fake. Why no NTSC or PAL indication on the face or spine of the case? Why no ESRB or PEGI rating on the front? Why would the collector's edition cover look nearly identical to the covers of different regions? Why would it say "cover artwork" on the front of the insert?

its real. It was a numbered bonus that was given out in a sealed envelope. It was just a replacement cover.

And sundry others, but I think most of the hardest are in that list somewhere. Jurassic Park (which is actually not a bad game), Barbie, and F1 2001 seem to be the hardest as I've only seen Barbie twice and the others once. Frogger Beyond is pretty tough to find as well.

I'd be interested to hear impressions about Red Card 2003, Sega Soccer Slam, and I-Ninja.

There's a sealed Red Card 20-03 on ebay right now for Xbox that is sealed, for right around $25. Now that I see there is a decent selection of soccer games on the xbox, I might set out to try and collect all of them. Decent cover art on this one too, featuring Brian McBride of Team USA/Fulham FC.

Does anyone else here own Championship Bowling? It was released by Encore. The other night was the first time I'd ever seen it and I snapped it right up!

Championship Bowling is still pretty easy to find new at GameRush. I see it at EB/Gamestop's as well. I don't think it's ALL that uncommon.
RedCard Soccer 20-03 was one that I was worried I'd have to buy on online. I didn't like the asking prices I was seeing much either! But, I ran across two copies this week during EB/Gamestops B2G1F. They were priced $2.99 without any discount. My lucky day!

On the flip side. Has anyone noticed that World Championship Pool 2004 is very easy to find on the Xbox, but noticably scarce on the PS2.

Okay I just got Samurai Showdown 5 on the xbox. 20 bucks new at Gamestop.
I hate giving money to that cashcow, but I own a neo geo mvs 2 slot and have SS1-4. I can't afford 300 bucks for the real deal.

I have seen the death blows from the characters on You Tube for SS5. Crazy Stuff.

Just some comments. With the buy 2 get 1 free Xbox sale at Game Stop, I've bought around 125 Xbox games keeping the average price under $4. I've been carrying around a list of most of the games listed in the thread and I've been meaning to post my comments. I've stopped at around 8 games stops in the past couple of weeks and a Game Crazy looking for Xbox. The number corresponds to the number I've seen. '?' means I may not have been looking for this closely enough

New Legends - I've seen several copies of this.

Rollercoaster Tycoon I saw one boxed copy and I bought it. Seems certifiably rare
Barbie Horse Adventures I saw one copy for $8 at Game Crazy and I bought it. Seems rare.

Curse: The Eye of Isis - I saw one copy of this for $7 and I bought it with B2G1
Still Life (getting there at least) - I believe that I've seen several copies of this. It might be because it's unpopular. I doubt that it's terribly rare.

Predator Concrete Jungle- Every store has a copy of this. It's not rare, as far as I can tell.
Spy vs. Spy - I saw maybe 6 copies of this. I don't think it's rare either.
Otagi 2 - this I've seen at multiple stores- maybe 4 copies. Frankly I've seen fewer copies of Otagi 1 than Otagi 2. I doubt it's that rare.
Drive for Life - I saw one copy and bought it. It's only $3 at Gamestop
Whiteout- haven't seen a copy yet
Yourself Fitness- haven't seen one yet
Shattered Union- I saw one new copy at a Gamestop (too bad new does not mean shrinkwrapped) - $35 - I passed. I think it's rather rare.
Sniper Elite - I saw one used copy at a Gamestop yesterday. $35. I almost regret not buying it, but I probably would have if I could have found other expensive games to pair it up with neat that price. I think it's rather rare.
Loons - I haven't seen one copy of this game yet. It's probably quite rare.
Futurame - I haven't seen a copy of this game
KOF 2002-3 - I haven't seen this one
Fatal Frame one - haven't seen it
Evil Dead Fistful of Boomstick. I passed on a 'new' copy at Game Crazy. $15. Kinda wish I'd bought it now, but otherwise, I haven't seen a copy.
Dai Senraku vii - 2 - kinda tough I would guess
Air Force Delta Store - 1 - kinda tough, but rarity probably overblown
Alien Vs Predator - I've seen several copies. Probably not that tough
Blackstone Magic Steel - I saw a copy and bought it. Probably rare
Deathrow - haven't seen a copy of it yet
Frogger Beyond - haven't seen a copy
Marvel vs Capcom 2 - I saw a used copy priced at $35 and passed.
Metal Slug 3 - I saw a copy yesterday and picked it up at around $13. I haven't seen other copys, although there are alot of Metal Slug 4 & 5s out there.
Pulse Racer - I haven't seen a copy yet
Monopoly Party - ?
Nemesis Strike - ?
Tom and Jerry Whiskers - ?


So that's my experience. I think that several previously mentioned as rare (ie. Predator, Otagi 2, AvP, OPbscure, Spy vs. Spy, New Legends) are less likely to end up being among the harder titles (clearly: Frogger Beyond, Loons, F1 2001) or even the likely rarities (Sniper Elite, Shattered Union). And some are just priced high, like the typical fighter 'rarity', Marvel vs. Capcom.

I hope to check out more stores before the sale ends. I'll post a tradelist once I get my act together. And I'll add some of the titles from this list that I wasn't looking out for too.

I picked up ESPN MLS Extratime at EB last weekend for $3 (actually about $2 since they were still doing the buy 2 get 1 free). The graphics and commentary are pretty awful, but the actual gameplay isn't too bad.

I got a new copy of Raze's Hell off Amazon.com for $10. And a couple weeks ago, out at the local flea market, I saw (but didn't buy) a copy of some Xbox game with the giant "Microsoft Employee Store" sticker on the front. I considered buying it, but it was still sealed and wasn't anything I was interested in, so it wasn't worth my money. They would have charged me an insane amount for it anyway.

I picked up a copy of Loons last week, but I have yet to see a copy of Outrun 2006. It's the only "rarity" I'm missing.
