    Default Goonies for NES

I know there is a Goonies 1 and 2, but is it true that you can only play the 2nd one on the NES and the 1st one is for the Famicon? I like the looks of the first one better because it resembles the movie more.

goonies 1 and 2 came out on the famicom.
1 was only released in the us as a VS arcade game.

I've seeen some nes style pirates of goonies here and there but it never got an offical release in the us.

The Goonies is also on the 115 in 1 cart as well.

I tried playing it but just couldn't get into it.

Wow really? I believe that this game should have made it's way over here to the states. I put sooooo many quarters into the local playchoice-10 back in the day because I couldn't get it at home....

    A great game!

I'm pretty sure that the title screen was in English on the Famicom version, could check the cart but someone will confirm.

Same here, I like it a lot better than the pain in the ass backtracking sequel.

The Goonies is totally in English (not like it's a text-heavy game, mind you). I tend to believe that had Atari released the NES (or if Nintendo had gotten retailers to bite earlier), we would have seen the first Goonies game here in the US.

I thought it was kind of funny...my 3rd post ever here on DP was about the same thing.

    MY THIRD POST ON DP

And that was exactly 2 years and 1 month ago tomorrow!

Goonies 1 was a great game and I used to play the hell out of that game on the "Play Choice 10" arcade.
