Good price on Gamecube purchase?

Against my better judgment (financially), I may purchase a used Gamecube. It is strictly the console, no hook-ups or controllers, though it is proven to work. Wireless receiver and MadCatz memory card included, along with three loose games (Metroid Prime, Medal of Honor and Street Hoops), which are a little beaten up. It was owned by a friend of mine and used by his two kids. Only problem with the system is the door doesn't shut easily, the eject/open button seems to get jammed a little. Do you recommend at $39.99 flat? I have the option of returning it to him, since I've known him for years.

Any recommendations would be appreciated to get me started, if I do go through with it.

Too much. $20 seems about right to me. Throw in the hook ups and a *good* controller, then $40 seems about right.
