Fixing PS analog sticks

So I just got a nice Dream Gear I.Glow controller, and it works fine except for the left analog stick. Is there an easy way to fix this? I have other Psone controllers with bad left sticks, (always the left, never the right, well the right is always tight and appears to be in working order, but I've never even played a psone game that uses the right stick so maybe that's why). Can I take the controllers apart and just swap the right stick for the left?

Thats interesting. I dont know anything for sure, but you could probably swap, althought it may require some soldering.

Damn, I was hoping to avoid soldering anything. The iglow controller's stick is totally loose, it looks fine, but when you press on it there's no resistance (physical, tho prolly electrical too), further when you press down as if you were pressing L3 it just goes straight down no click as it were.
My other broken psone controllers have the analog stick stuck in one position, with some effort you can make it move and the game responds appropriately I assume that to repair these at all I'm gonna have to break out the soldering iron, I guess I'll just have to open one up and see what's inside, is there anywhere on the net with repair tips?
Edit: And before I go and screw myself over by swapping sticks, are there any PSone games that use the right stick?

By another busted stick,for the extra analog. Less soldering and risk that way too.

The analog sticks themselves can't really be repaired, just replaced.

Do the third party controllers and the sony controllers use the same component, or at least one similiar enough to interchange easily? If they have solder joins in the same spots would they be compatible?

It might work, but they wouldn't use the same component.
