Default Super Famicom Game Start up Problems

    Greetings fellows!
I am in a bit of a jam here. I just bought another Super Famicom and it doesn't seem to want to start the games! I plug in the console and insert a game and hit the power button and the red light turns on. However I just get a black screen and nothing more. The best I have got is the logo from sufami turbo when I tried to play one of my gundam games, but thats it. I tried cleaning the connector and tried again, but it still doesn't work. What should I do? Is my connector dead? Should I get a new connector or what should I try? If I need to get a new SFC connector, where should I look?

Sounds to me like it's just really dirty. What I usually do is that if I get something like a title screen and that's all, I simply clean it some more. Clean EVERYTHING. Really good. If you're not using alcohol or windex you should. If none of this helps I don't know what else to do.

..err, Super Famicom in this case. Nearly every loose SFC game I've ever picked up has had terribly dirty connectors, same goes for my SFC console when I bought it.
