    Default Arcade tokens *picture*

When I still lived in North Carolina, our arcade me, and my friends used to visit often used, and switched many different coins before it was closed down a little after I left.

I was smart enough at the time to hold on to two of them just for the sake of doing it, and I was wondering if anyone has done the same, and if they look any different. Post of picture of them if you don't mind

Had a nice thread on them awhile back here, similar to this.

I was just psyched that I found that thread since I needed some information out of it I put there. Shoudn't need a lock here though as this is a totally different subject matter, that thread was more of information, this would be more of a gallery.

I've got some old Chuck E Cheese and Aladdin's Castle tokens somewhere. Once I find them I'll post pics.

Actually, my local antique store is trying to sell these. Personally, I don't think they're nearly old enough to be in an antique store, but that's because they're not as old as I am.

I have some Namco arcade tokens and old GameWorks data cards from when they first opened. I even have some arcade tokens from the legendary Southern Hills Golfland, which was the mecca of fighting games in the early 90s.

Intresing, I'd like to see the coins from that place. I wish I would have kept all the coins from when I was younger.

I have some Q-Zar tokens from back in the day...no clue if they still use those or not. I can make a scan of one next weekend, if you want.
I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!

If you go to a Chuck E. Cheese even to this day you can find some old tokens. I guess they just keep recycling them to infinity, because last time I went there (for a cousins birthday) I got tokens from all over the timeline, earliest being 1984.

If I can find them Ill post pictures, its intresting to see Chuck's image change over the years.
    Welcome to Macintosh.

Oh my god! I have a Barrel of Fun token I've kept since 1982! I've got to find out where I put it. Wish me luck, with all the coin jars lying around my house.

Of course, I do have Chuck E. Cheese tokens for when I take my nephews there. I always end up with a pocketful when I get home. That would never have happened way back when..

Damn it! I'm kicking myself for not taking advantage of this when I had the opportunity...

My old college had a game place with a token dispenser--only the tokens they used were a potpouri of dead arcades; they didn't have any tokens of their own. It was a lot of fun to get a handful of 'em--each one different from the rest. I'd look at 'em and try to guess what the arcade that it came from was like...

It would be nice now to have 10 bucks worth of those tokens from long-forgotten arcades. Ah well. At least I made good use out of 'em when I had the chance.

So, sorry to bump seven year old topic but I recently came across some of my old tokens and thought about sharing pics for the interested. Do we actually have an arcade token topic somewhere or will this one due?

I've still got an old Showbiz Pizza Time Theater token I've held onto for like 30 years.

OK, I dug some of mine up. The crown jewels of this "collection" for me at least are the "Just Fun" tokens which was an amazing arcade back in the day. Located at the Fairfield Mall in Chicopee, MA both of which are now long gone (the mall was leveled in the 90's, RIP). Just Fun was one of those local arcades that always had the best machines, a great onsite arcade operator who maintained the machines, and was packed every day after school and every weekend. They cranked Metallica (who were cool back then) and other 80's metal on weekend nights and it was basically the place to be. I think I spent at least 5 days a week there and went almost every day in the summer. So many great memories. The other good one is the Fun and Games token. Fun and games still stands, but is a shadow of it's former self. It opened in 1974, pic from it's heyday below. The place was huge and had a sci-fi theme complete with Star Trek like doors that swooshed opened when you approached the entrance and a huge spaceship flying overhead along with various space themed craziness. It was like going to arcade heaven back in the 80's.

I try to pick up tokens here and there. Some pics below. Also got some Konami arcade, Capcom Plaza, SEGA, Taito and some other tokens from arcades. Have some old Chuck E Cheese ones too. Would love to have some from my childhood arcades like Time Out, The Yellow Brick Road, Aladdin's Castle, etc...

I have to snap some shots but I still have an Aladdin's token, Chuck E Cheese, some arcade from a town near Pike's Peak, a few from the local arcade called Lucky Don's Bear Claw and a couple from the now I think defunct arcade at the nearby water park. I also have tokens from Flynn's Arcade from Disney my sister got me.

I'll post 'em when I get a chance.
