If this is true... I am OVER the Moon. Haha. Oh dear. Seriously, though, this is great news if it turns out to be true. We need more, more, MORE!Originally Posted by Ghouls N Ghosts
Ugh. I played DoS and it was atrocious. The stylus use was so gimmicky it wasn't even funny. Course, I've hated EVERY CV game since Symphony, so maybe I'm not a good example. Anything before Symphony I love....why can't Konami make another traditional CV???

While I adore the Castleroid games, I would love to see a return to something in the vein of Castlevania 3 or 4 on a modern system. Hell, I'd kill for a remake of Rondo of Blood.Originally Posted by maxlords
DoS was absolutely amazing. It was one of the only games I've completed lately (although I'm still trying to collect all the souls and finish Julius mode). I believe last year they had verified they were already working on another DS game, but the part about it being a sequal to COTM is neat news. Yes, the stylus use has a bit on the gimicky side, but it wasn't that intrusive on the overall experience - great great game overall.
This one is said to be a sequel to Circle of the Moon so it's probably the closest we'll get. Of the recent ones Circle of the Moon was definitely the most action oriented and and had the most practical combat options and moves. After the first 1/4 it was defintely more focused on running through levels and kicking ass than finding items to proceed. It's actually my favorite of the three GBA CVs, though I do think Dawn of Sorrow on the DS is a better game overall.Originally Posted by maxlords
Regardless, even a weak CV game usually blows away most other 2D games, so I'm down.
Juilus Mode on DoS plays more like Castlevania 3/IV... Switching between a Belmont, Alucard, and a female magic user on the fly. Having all the secondary weapons (holy water, axe, etc). Chain Whip is back. I'm enjoying it a lot... Your Mileage may vary...Originally Posted by maxlords
But on topic, I thought IGA didn't see Circle of the Moon as canon since he didn't make it/or it was hard to fit into the Castlevania timeline? So it may be doubtful he's making a sequel to it?
Personally I liked CotM a lot. Having the whip is alway a plus
IMO...
Cheers,
Ben
Circle of the Moon, I thought its story was removed from the CV chronology?

This would be awesome, I just hope they dont try to reinvent the wheel here. Circle of the Moon is my favorite Castlevania hands down.
Welcome to Macintosh.
I doubt it will be a sequel to CoTM since it's been brushed out of the CV storyline by IGA. However, I'm hoping it's a return to the good old Vampire Slayer and another Belmont.
Any more CV on the DS is a good thing. DoS makes my top ten games of all time list. I'm STILL addicted to it after beating it on normal, difficult, and julius, and doing boss rush in both modes. Unbelievable game.
