This morning I went to the "city-wide" garage sale at the fairgrounds today. I think eBay has hit those things hard; it was mostly crap. I did pick up a copy of EA's Starflight for .50, and a box of blank floppies for another .50 cents.
Here are my finds (not all today, but Im behind in my posts so you all get it at once):
NES GAMES:
Mike Tyson's Punchout from Value Village (game, box, letter from tyson, no instructions though) $4.99
Rollerblade Racer (loose) $5.00 from a Pawn store (it's an R5 rarity)
Kid Niki (loose) $5.00 from a Pawn Store
XBOX GAME:
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (complete) $15.00 from a Flea Market
STRATEGY GUIDES:
Perfect Dark Zero (brand new from EB Games) $26.95
Doom 3 (Prima, Xbox version) used from a Pawn Store for $6.00
Need For Speed: Most Wanted (Prima, covers Xbox 360 version) used from a Pawn Store for $6.00
BOOKS:
Arcade Fever (awesome book with loads of color photos from the heyday of arcades, plus info and pics on home console systems) $2.99 from Value Village
Going For It! The Winner's Guide To Successful Sports Betting (great book too, been looking for this for awhile, written by a Canadian author) $3.99 from Value Village.
DVD's:
Saw 2
Pulp Fiction: Collector's Edition
(both of these movies were a late birthday present from my bro's fiance)
TOYS:
Wizpig from the Diddy Kong Series ($1.00 from Flea Market)
Venom from the Spiderman Series ($1.00 from Flea Market).
Dan
Got some interesting stuff today:
Timex Sinclair 2068 w/ printer and Crazy Bugs game - $5
Rise of the Dragon for Sega CD - $3
C&C: The First Decade - $5
The Matrix Path of Neo - $5
I was pretty stoked about the sinclair, this is my first encounter with one in the wild. Does anyone know anything about it?
Nintendan you just reminded me that I need to buy KOTOR 1 and 2.
Still can't believe my luck today. I wasn't going to go to the flea, but one of the regular vendors had an NES top loader last week and I didn't think to ask if he had any dogbone controllers, so that was the purpose for the trip.
I get there and find out he's packing up his stuff for good at that locale (starting the outdoor flea season) and so no dogbone for me. I walk to the back (individual rooms and shops) and decide to ignore the other usual game vendor until I leave.
One of the shop ladies had a stack of Genesis games, "the old stuff she'd go a dollar apiece on". Well, amongst about 10 EA Sports Genny games, I found Wayne Gretzky Hockey, complete and in nice shape, as well as a pair of "sealed" Dreamcast games. They had the original plastic, but it was ripped.
Anyway, NES Wayne Gretzky Hockey CIB, Dreamcast ECW Hardcore Rev0lution and EGG, $1 each.
So I find nothing else and stop at the other vendor because she usually charges $5-6 per loose NES cart. I had pre-planned to get Gremlins 2 just to give me something, and what should I spy, but a few new carts. Nothing special in the stack, but a Tengen cart... I couldn't read the label so I slid the top ones back a little and assumed it looked like it read "Toobin". Not quite...
I know it's not as uber-rare as it once was but hey, I didn't have it... Gremlins 2 and Tengen Tetris... $11.
So for $14 dollars total, it was a good day.
Sorry for the glare in the pic. I still suck with this thing.
Using various Best Buy gift cards:
Metroid Prime Hunters (DS)
Syhpon Filter Dark Mirror (PSP)
Battlefield 2 (PC)
Robot Chicken Season 1 (DVD)
I just want to say thanks to Flack for posting this as I have not been able to be on the boards in the past couple of days due to personal reasons.
Thanks again buddy,
-Chris

What a great, great, GREAT day.
Went to a yard sale of sorts and picked up, for TWENTY bucks:
Went home, the mail lady came and walked to my door carrying no less than SEVEN (!) packages. She gave me that "you're crazy" look. I make her earn EVERY last cent of this route, hahaha.
Poor lady had to carry all this to my door:
Now let's see what we got!
Sad thing is, I had so many deals in the works, I didn't know for sure what was what in the 7 packages, lol. Now that's when you know you're buying too much, folks.
Damn. What a day. 15 games... whew
Came in the mail yesterday:
Twin Cobra CIB
Truxton Boxed without manual
Bio Hazard Battle CIB
Ghouls 'N Ghosts CIB
All for the Genesis BTW for $25 total.
Decent day at the flea today...
for $15 total:
Ms. Pac Man (boxed, GEN)
Virtual Pinball (boxed, GEN)
Mario Paint (boxed, no inst, cart, mouse, mousepad, and a radio shack soft mousepad... zuh?)
and a SNES version of the C&J Competition Pro Joystick. Anyone have info on this since it's sort of bare on the rarity guide.

FLEA MARKET..
Not that many vendors as usual,I think the forcast kept them away.
I spend $10.00 in total for the below.
A vendor friend of mine told of of a KISS Pinball machine located at another vendor friend of mine spot.
I rushed over to see this machine..It was trashed..the playground was dark brown and severely worn, pcbs missing and no back glass..
Me figures whew deep project if i can get it cheap..
Price $350.00...I stood there talking to my vendor friend about a PS2 he was selling and person after person came up asking the price.
One guy that knew about Pinball machines told vendor friend he was Nuts..
Ebay Prices get thrown around between them, parts etc cost....
If I know my vendor friend he got this machine either for free or no more then $50.00
Everybody stopped to look at this machine..I may have bought it as it was for $100.00 if he agreed.
Next table over I see a decent Pachinko Machine with about 10 balls..Sticker Price $135.00 WOW!!!
Electric HONDA Pocket Bike..I wanted to buy this bad...The scavenger Not vendor friend of mine would not sell it...This guy hits up all the other vendors real early then sells the stuff either at higher price or at another flea market..
My question to him was..If it's not for sale the why is it displayed out with everything else..No answer, just a crazy stupid look..
I'd delt with this guy many times,he's the dirtbag of the flea market and known there as that..
Another vendor friend of mine had a NINTENDO System missing the RF switch.
$25.00 but the top was Baked yellow with the shape of the zapper on top,
No cleaning this system..Someone must of left it for a long time with the Zapper on the top in the Sun.
He Sold it too...
Atari 2600 Darth Vader System in Box..Smaller box then the usual long box...
$75.00..I knew better then to ask..
Daryll, how does that Crane Bank work? I've always wanted something like that to mess around with at home, but have never found one(anyone know where I can buy one like his), so I would be interested in how good it works.
As for me, I haven't been hunting in awhile, but I should be hitting the GameStop sale tomarrow and a flea market next weekend.
Stopped by an antique store and got a simplely-made gameboy carrying-case for $2. Man, they had some pretty good Atari stuff there. There had to be like, what, six complete games and one factory sealed for the 2600; plus a box including 2 storage cases, I think about three-different types of controllers and a four-switch atari all in good if not excellent condition. passed-up because of the outrageous price ($49.01?!?!)
Honestly..It works like crap.. ...It has some cool mini toys in it that makes it look Arcade authentic...(So I just display it)Originally Posted by snes_collecter
Well worth $10.00 though.............. (I paid $5)
The up-down joystick on these go bad quickly as this on is starting to go...I had another one of these with a dead up-down joystick and I trashed it (missing toys)..It's very hard to take these apart to fix the problem..It goes together like a puzzle..
Really, I got something like that for Christmas one year and it didn't work at all! Thus, why I was wondering how yours worked. Guess they are all made pretty crappy . Thanks for answering my question.Originally Posted by Videogamerdaryll
Not so much "finds" as "purchases".
The Gretzky PSP was $3.74 from Target, and the Halo 2 Map Pack was $4.99.
The Xbox 360 and all associated games were my "I'm spending my tax return because I'm getting a divorce and my soon to be ex-wife is crazy" purchase. The Buy 2 get 1 free sale at EB came at the right time!
Looks like you had a good day, Steven!
I, myself, had an excellent day in flea marketing and pawn shopping.
I've been in this town for a year, and I'm still not familiar with many areas so I just kind of went driving around, today. I spotted a Cash America pawn shop and stopped in and found these two little gems:
The Dreamcast StarLancer was "clearence priced" at just $1.99 and the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition promo disc had the 'green sticker' making it just $10.00! These two together can go for $80.00 online. I paid $11.99 (plus tax). Not bad at all for a pawn shop (if you don't mind inhaling the power tool fumes).
Then I went to a flea market and paid $12.00 for the following:
I've always wanted the NES Star Wars and have always been curious about Illusion of Gaia. The other two games, Clash at Demonhead and Flying Warriors, just looked cool.
Total for the day: $25.00
