Wow that's awesome. I've always wanted to do something like that
I'm moving to a new apartment soon. If I can't get ethernet cable to my xbox at the new place, I'm totally going to pull something like this I don't game online much using my xbox, I just use the network to move files to the hard drive.
From a sheer coolness factor, this is way up there. But why would you spend the money to do it for just an Xbox when you could buy a bridge and have as many wireless connections as you need at the rack instead of just making a single device wireless?
I've done this in my setup so that my Xbox, 360, PS2, and Fireball use a $10 5 port switch connecting them all to a single bridge that joins them back to my main network. Works great and I can add in as many other devices as I want at any time for the cost of a bigger switch.
